FOUR THINGS TO KNOW WHEN YOU'RE FACING A HARD DECISION
1. Defining moments will always test our devotion to Christ.
Jesus said it plainly in John 15: "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
So, in most situations, standing for Christ doesn't cost us much. But there comes a moment where it does, and we'll be tempted to bow instead of stand. And God uses that opposition to strengthen us. Palm trees grow strong because the wind keeps pushing on them from the time they're sprouts.
2. Defining moments always require risk.
You have to trust that He'll protect you and provide for you, even when your job, your reputation, or your comfort is on the line. His Son risked coming to Earth and laid His life down on a cross for us. Won't we risk something back for Him?
3. Defining moments are never limited by a lack of numbers or personal ability.
God used a 100 year old man and a 90 year old woman to birth a kingdom, a shepherd boy to defeat a giant, and a young virgin to bring His Son into the world.
So, never underestimate the power of one person fully given to the Lord. Usefulness to God isn't about special skills or training, it's about being willing to do the right thing at the right time.
4. God is in charge of history without having to control every situation.
It's His world, His plans, and His purpose. Our lives revolve around Him, not the other way around, and He will fulfill every plan He's set in motion.
