Got the Love of Jesus

‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭8‬ NIV
8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.

"I've got the love of Jesus, love of Jesus down in my heart, down in my heart, down in my heart to stay." This is a verse from a song I sang in Sunday School when I was little. That song popped into my mind this morning as I was reading some verses from Isaiah.
What does the love of Jesus mean, is it that we love Jesus or that we have His love in us. It is both. His love is in all of those His Father gave Him (John 18:9), and when we choose Christ our love for Him is in our hearts and we are able to love like He does .
So what does the love of Jesus look like, how do we love like Christ loves? We seek a loving relationship with God first, daily communicating with Him. We trust in His plan for us and strive to be a willing participant in that plan. We are willing to make sacrifices for others no matter what they may think of us. Christ sacrificed His all for people who despised Him, sometimes we have a hard time sacrificing for people who love us.
Loving like Christ does is not an easy task, yet the end result is worth it! Putting ourselves out there like Christ did takes courage and a deep love of Christ down in our hearts. How are you showing your love of Christ today? You've got the love of Jesus, love of Jesus down in your heart to stay!

A Crown of Righteousness

2 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ NIV
8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

How awesome this verse is! There is a crown of righteousness waiting for each of us who call on Christ Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer! We will be awarded a crown by the Righteous Judge when we see Him face to face!
It is hard for me to comprehend sometimes that Christ has a crown of righteousness for me. For me who doesn’t always heed the Holy Spirit’s advice, who lets my emotions get the better of me sometimes, who doesn’t always have a tight reign of my tongue or my thoughts. A crown is waiting for a sinner like me because even though I mess up and stumble, I am still running the race. I am learning and striving to be Christ-like, and I am a child of the one true God who loves me unconditionally!
There is a crown waiting for each of us! We must persevere, get back on our feet when we stumble, we must run the race believing and knowing we will finish! Remember the past is for learning, the future is for striving, and today is for living out your faith! A crown is waiting for you!!

Power and Love

Psalms‬ ‭62‬‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NIV
11 One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God, 12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.”

Power belongs to the Lord! The Lord has unfailing love. What words of reassurance, however the next words can be a bit unnerving. The Lord rewards everyone according to what we have done. My concern is always, "Have I don't enough?"
As I pondered on this verse this morning I came to realize the Lord doesn't reward us based on the amount of deeds we have done, He rewards based on our obedience to Him. He supplies us with the power and love to do whatever He asks of us. Some days it seems as if what He is asking is impossible to accomplish, but if we rely on His power we will be successful. Other days it seems as if our tasks are too simple and we need to do more, but on those days the Lord is wanting us to rest in His love.
No matter what God asks of us or what we do, as long as we are doing His will we will be successful. Don't worry about how much you are doing or not doing, instead focus on seeking the Lord's will and doing what He desires of you. You can never go wrong when you follow the Lord.

Keep On Being Brave

Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭35‬ CEVUK
35 Keep on being brave! It will bring you great rewards.

Today’s verse is short and easy to remember! Keep on being brave, don’t give up, don’t lose confidence, for there is a reward so wonderful waiting on us that we can’t even imagine all its splendor. There are days when we need to write this verse on the mirror, the desk, the monitor, your hand (if you are one of those people), anywhere so we can see it through out the day. There are days when we need that constant reminder that it is all worth it.
It is tempting to throw the towel in and say you are done. I have had the conversation more often than I want to admit. The author of Hebrews knew this about the Christians he was writing to, so he reminded them of the reward of persevering, of never giving up or giving in. The message is the same for us! It is all worth it!
Write this verse down so you see it often, read it and pray it when the day is overwhelming and the light at the end of the tunnel is almost non-existent. Persevering for the reward of everlasting life with God and Christ is so worth it, as well as the blessings God gives us here on earth.

It's A New Day

Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭31‬ NLT
31 Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good! And evening passed and morning came, marking the sixth day.

God marked the start of the new day in the morning. When evening had passed and the morning came again, it marked the end of the past day and the start of the new day. Each day is full of new beginnings, new opportunities, and even new problems. Every new day also marks the end of yesterday with its beginnings, opportunities, and problems being in the past, not to come again in the same exact way.
Sometimes we look at a new day as just a repeat of yesterday, the same old routine, yet the Bible reminds us that it's a new day. Today may look the same as yesterday; we get up, go to work, deal with the same issues, same traffic, and so on, but it is different- it is a new day. Our responses, people's reactions, and solutions to problems are all new or can be if we choose to see them as new. We don't have repeat the same mistakes or continue to follow the wrong path, we can see each day as a fresh beginning.
Each day brings new possibilities for the same old thing, we just have to be aware of it. Focus on the newness of the morning today! Look past the seemingly same old routine and see a new day with new opportunities, new solutions, and new ways to praise God!
