As we begin this new series called "Promises of God," we're going to start with a simple, yet complicated question: Can God actually be trusted? That’s the question behind our every fear and fragile hope. As we kick off this series, we’ll walk through the story of Abraham and Sarah—years of waiting, moments of trying to force God’s hand, and finally laughter when God keeps His word in an impossible situation. Even if we’re worn out from doubts or lengthy waiting periods, we can see how God’s track record can give us courage to trust again. His promises are only as good as His character—and God always keeps His word.

Join us in the FBC Worship Center on Sunday morning at 10:30 as we meet with our friends, sing songs of praise, and worship the Lord together! If you can't be here in person, join our online community as we livestream the service on YouTube (FBC Fairfield TV) or Facebook Live. We'd love to welcome you!

Life is full of promises. We make some, we break some, and some of them break us. But what about the promises God makes? In this late spring/early summer series, we’re going to explore some of the most life-changing promises found in Scripture, and why it's worth staking your future on them. We all have moments of doubt, and we also have breakthroughs of trust. In all of that, we can discover how God's faithfulness stands up to your hardest questions. Join us on Sunday as we start this new series.

Is there a deeper difference between simply calling yourself a Christian and truly following Jesus? What does it mean to live a life devoted to learning and practicing the way of Jesus—to love sacrificially, serve humbly, and pursue righteousness—rather than settling for the comfort of a religious label? Jesus Himself challenged those who claimed His name but didn’t embody His teachings, warning that not everyone who says, "Lord, Lord," will enter the kingdom of heaven. So what does He think of those who wear the title of "Christian," but ignore His call to live differently?

This week we’re going to conclude this series by diving into Jesus' closing words in His Sermon on the Mount. Last week, we explored His warnings about false prophets, but now we turn to an even more urgent question: How can we recognize—and avoid becoming—false followers? Jesus doesn’t simply want admirers, but He demands disciples who build their lives on His words, putting them into practice. Join us Sunday morning as we talk about what it truly means to follow Him.

The Global 6K for Water is finished, and it was a great time! We had seven people participating here in Fairfield, we had six people walking with us in Illinois, and we had one person walking in Hawaii! Wow! The FBC Team raised $1,035 to help provide clean water, and joining with the 14,337 worldwide participants, we all helped to give over 33,053 people access to life-changing clean water! What a day; what an opportunity; what an experience! If you didn't get a chance to join us this year, put the third Saturday on May 2027 on your calendar today! You won't regret it!
