Thank you to our faithful men for teaching the Adult Sunday School over the Summer months. It was a much needed break for me and the lessons were excellent.
Now that Summer is over (not officially), for the next couple of weeks we are studying about "Personal Responsibility" as believers in Christ. Yes, there are some expectations for all those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We are not "born again" to sit idly by while the lost perish in an eternal hell. And every child of God will be held accountable for these expectations. We will not be disappointed by serving our Lord and Saviour on this earth, nor will we be sorry for attending to these "reasonable services." So, come and join in the fight, win souls for the glory of Christ and look forward to seeing our Lord face to face.

What have we learned from God's Word this week? This is a question each of us should ask ourselves because it will require us to be in God's Word every day. Did you know that the God of Creation and the Saviour of both soul and body wants to teach you new lessons each day? The information God has for us is unlimited; we just have to enquire of the Lord and He will faithfully tell us. Many questions about current events should cause us to enquire of the Lord. Many questions about areas of our lives should cause us to seek His wisdom for answers. Many unresolved issues should drive us to our knees in prayer to the One Holy God. What have we
learned from God's Word this week?

"God is faithfu!.." This statement is from (I Corinthians 1:9), and is the theme of the entire Bible. This has been God's saving Grace since the beginning of time, and will always be true. Am I faithful? Do I strive to be faithful to God in word and deed? The Bible tells us: "Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." (I Corinthians 4:1-2) Faithfulness: an admirable quality, and a required action among God's people. Every day, ask yourself; "Am I a faithful steward for God's purpose in this world?"

We must leave something for our children. This is the cry of the whole world. But it may mean something different for many people. For some it is all about a financial windfall. This seems to be what most people will strive. Some will say a clean earth, or a national heritage of liberty and freedom. And these things are not only admirable, but they are attainable, if you strive. The most important inheritance for which we should strive: an heritage of godliness and faith in the God of eternal benefits. This is easily attainable if you have surrendered your all to God and His Christ. God shall reward our children if we are faithful to Him.

We were so very happy to have student intern Nate Bates with us for the summer. From cleaning the church, to running Puppets In The Park, and preaching… he has proven he is made for service! We wish you all the best at Heartland Baptist Bible College
