🌿 The Gift of Humility
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility regard others as better than yourselves.” — Philippians 2:3
Humility is often misunderstood. It does not mean believing that we have no value or pretending that our gifts do not matter. Christian humility begins with recognizing that everything we have is ultimately a gift from God. Our abilities, opportunities, relationships, and accomplishments are not reasons to place ourselves above others, but opportunities to give thanks and serve.
Paul points us toward Christ as the ultimate example of humility. Jesus did not use His position for His own advantage. Instead, He willingly humbled Himself and gave His life for sinners. When we look to Christ, humility becomes less about thinking poorly of ourselves and more about thinking generously about others. Because we know our worth is secure in Christ, we do not have to compete for importance. We are free to serve.
