Over the last 5 years, the Barnes family has loved, served, encouraged, and faithfully poured into our church family in countless ways. This Sunday will be a special time to gather together, share memories, laugh, pray, and celebrate all God has done through them here at Desert Church.

We’ll have food, laser tag, fellowship, and plenty of time to connect together as a church family. Bring your family, your appetite, and your favorite memories as we honor and bless the Barnes family well on their next chapter.

🌟 Volunteer Highlight of the Week: NATHALIE! 🌟

This week we’re celebrating Nathalie! 💛

Nathalie and her family began attending Desert Church last year, and when she was ready to serve, she jumped right in — joining both our worship and kids ministry teams. She has such a beautiful heart for Jesus, and it shines through the way she worships, serves, and loves those around her.

She’s a full-time mom, a student, and somehow still shows up ready to pour into others with kindness and grace. We are so blessed by her faithful servant heart!

🌟 Volunteer Highlight of the Week: CAT! 🌟

Cat first came to Desert Church during our Spring 2025 Women’s Gathering — and she jumped right into community and serving with her whole heart! From joining our Desert Youth team to greeting at the doors on Sunday mornings, Cat brings joy, warmth, and energy everywhere she goes.

She’s a loving wife, momma to 3 boys, a loyal friend, and such a gift to our church family. The students absolutely LOVE her, and it has been so beautiful watching her thrive in ministry. 💛

“Cat is sweet, fun and always brings a smile to my face! Watching her grow has been such a joy. She shares the love of Jesus so naturally — not only with our youth, but also with the women at Bible study and everyone who walks through the doors of our church.

This week we honor Rich for his many years of faithful service at Desert Church. If you’ve walked through our doors, you’ve likely been greeted by his warm smile, handshake, and a witty joke. Whether greeting, serving communion, or working behind the scenes, Rich helps make our church a safe and welcoming place.

For over 30 years Rich has manned the doors at EFC/Desert Church and greeted everyone with a friendly smile and a handshake. Rich goes out of his way to make sure that everyone has a seat and is comfortable and safe. He never misses an opportunity to serve whether it be at Desert Church or His Helping Hands or anywhere else that he could be of help.”

When he was laying in a hospital bed recovering from surgery, his prayer was that Jesus would help him to still stand at the doors of his church with his hand out, smile on his face and a kind word from his heart. This week we’re celebrating Amie, a faithful servant of the Lord who pours so much love into our Desert Church family. From serving in Kids Ministry, to making sure coffee is ready on Sunday mornings, Amie shows up with a joyful heart and a warm smile every single time.

She’s a wonderful wife to Bill, an incredible mom, and an amazing baker — seriously… 22 dozen cookies for Easter Sunday! 🍪🙌

Amie carries a beautiful spirit of hospitality and service, and it’s felt by everyone who walks through our doors.

🌟 Volunteer Highlight of the Week: WYATT! 🌟

This week we’re highlighting Wyatt, a faithful servant who helps keep our church safe, helps lead Men’s Group, and also volunteers his time on the Worship Team. Wyatt is someone we’ve seen truly grow and flourish during his time at Desert Church, and it has been such a joy to watch him step out of his comfort zone to lead — not only in church, but in his family and community as well.

Wyatt is a loving husband and father, a loyal friend, and a faithful servant of Jesus who continues to say yes wherever God calls him.
