God is the ultimate authority, and He has established civil authorities to restrain evil, promote order, and serve the good of society. Christians are called to respect authority, obey the law, fulfill their obligations, and live honorably—not merely out of fear of consequences, but for conscience’ sake before God. At the same time, our relationships with one another are governed by the higher law of love, because loving our neighbor fulfills the intent of God’s law. Paul closes by urging believers to wake up spiritually, reject the works of darkness, and “put on the Lord Jesus Christ,” living in a way that reflects His character in both the public square and the church.

This week we explored what divine love in action truly looks like. Not the kind that love-bombs and flatters, but the kind that is genuine, sacrificial, and without hypocrisy. As Romans 12:9 calls us to, let love be sincere -- abhorring evil and clinging to what is good.

The world will try to conform you. God wants to transform you. And through the Holy Spirit dwelling within you, as 1 John 4:4 assures us, the One inside you is greater than anything in this world.

Come be part of a community learning to be fountains, not black holes. There is a blessed hope worth sharing.

Romans 12 calls believers to offer their entire lives to God as a living sacrifice and to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. As members of one body, we should humbly use our different gifts to serve God and one another. Our love must be sincere—devoted, generous, compassionate, prayerful, and at peace with others. Instead of repaying evil with evil, we are called to overcome evil with good.

If you have missed any of the teachings in Romans, you can go to our website to "Media" or you can download our app or go on over to YT. This week Pastor Don is teaching Chapter 11:22-36. In Romans 11:22-36, Paul highlights both the kindness and severity of God: severity toward those who fell away through unbelief, and kindness toward Gentile believers if they continue in that kindness—otherwise they too will be cut off. He affirms that God is able to graft the natural branches (Israel) back into the olive tree if they do not persist in unbelief. Paul then reveals the mystery that a partial hardening has come upon Israel until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, after which all Israel will be saved. The passage ends with a soaring doxology marveling at the unsearchable depth of God’s wisdom, knowledge, and judgments, declaring that from Him, through Him, and to Him are all things—to Him be the glory forever.
