Before being born again he was a Cop on the Pensacola Police Department when he became a born again Apostolic convert and was called by God into the ministry Later God used him and his wife & family to pioneer churches in Galveston, Texas & in the British Isles. Before retirement he built a new church building in Fort Walton Beach Florida leaving it completely paid for along with all the property

and buildings. In order to achieve this he worked part time as a court Officer and his wife Carol Ann Duke cooked homemade Peanut Brittle in the churches and along with the wonderful members sold it for funds to help in making the payments. Pastor Robert Glass made the remark that she cooked so much peanut brittle when pioneering the church in Galveston Texas her kitchen had turned yellow.
