The sermon may still be fresh in your mind…

Maybe something stood out.

Maybe a verse hit differently.

Maybe there was a moment when you thought: “Lord, I needed to hear that.”

Before the busyness of another week begins, maybe there’s another question worth asking:

⚠️ What am I going to do with what I heard?

👉 Is there something God convicted me about?

👉 Something I need to surrender?

👉 An apology I need to make?

👉 A conversation I’ve been avoiding?

👉 Something Scripture showed me that I know needs to look different in my life?

Because if I’m not careful, I can leave church encouraged, think about the message for a day or two…

and by next Sunday, be ready for another sermon without ever responding to the last one.👀

There’s nothing wrong with being eager to learn more. We should be!

‼️ But sometimes we don’t need another page of notes nearly as much as we need to put into practice what God has already shown us.

James 1:22 reminds us not to merely listen to the Word, but to do what it says.📖

So before today’s message becomes next Sunday’s forgotten notes:

Don’t just remember what you heard.
Ask God to help you live it. 🤎✝️

I’d love to hear from you! Did anything stand out in your sermon today that you felt God was speaking to you about?💭

May it be so. 🙏🏽 🌎 ✨

Thank God for the money in your pocket.

Thank Him for the food on your table.

Thank Him for the work of your hands.

Thank Him for every provision.

But above all,

thank Him for Jesus.

Because you can have little and still be rich when Christ is yours.

You can lose possessions and still have hope.

You can walk through a difficult season and still have peace.

You can have nothing in your hands and yet possess the greatest treasure of all.

Jesus.

I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. — Philippians 3:8

In response to the catastrophic flash flooding that occurred along the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, UMCOR is awarding a solidarity grant to support United Mission Nepal as they aid impacted communities in Dhading and Nuwakot districts with emergency food and non-food item (NFI) assistance. Alongside this grant, UMCOR is continuing to explore opportunities for further response through our partner networks and local assessments.

Please remain in prayer for these communities as the toll of this disaster continues to worsen. Authorities now report that at least 579 people have died and 1,924 people remain missing, with these numbers expected to grow as some areas remain inaccessible. Search and rescue teams are still working to reach communities cut off by the disaster, with damaged roads, landslides, and communications disruptions hindering relief operations and making it difficult to fully assess needs.

We lift up this call for prayer, presence, and continued accompaniment from the Rev. Jung Eun Grace Moon, general secretary of the Christian Conference of Asia, ecumenical partner of The United Methodist Church: “In this time of profound loss and suffering, may God’s comforting presence draw near to all those affected, embrace those who grieve, strengthen those who search and serve, shelter those who have lost their homes and kindle a light of hope amid the darkness.”

There is something so comforting about realizing that God is not measuring the quality of my time with Him by how emotional or impressive it feels.

He is not asking me to put on a spiritual performance.

👉 He is inviting me into relationship.

And real relationship includes tired days. Distracted days. Quiet days.
Days when you don’t have much to say.

You can still come.

You can still sit with Him.

You can still be honest.

Thank You, Lord, that I don’t have to come to You perfectly. I just get to come. 🤎🙏✝️

A prayer for every UMC leader carrying a lot this week.

Gracious God,
you have called us to lead in your name.

Give us grace to love boldly,
strength to serve joyfully,
and faith to lead courageously.

When we grow weary, renew us.
When we grow afraid, steady us.
When we falter, lift us up.

May every act of leadership point back to you.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
