Today is September 1 and our kickoff day for our fall fundraiser!

We depend on our Fall Capital Campaign to provide to us the needed funds to help our neighbors with not only food but financial emergencies to include utilities and rent.

We are so excited to announce our first Capital Campaign donation is from Bank Independent Athens!

We thank them so much for starting our fall effort with such a gracious donation!

Devotion: Day 1 Create in me a clean heart

SEPTEMBER 1
God Makes Us Right Again

Good morning, church family.
Let’s start a new challenge this month together.

My prayer today from Psalm 51:10

“Create in me a pure heart, oh God, and make my spirit right again within me.”

My devotion this morning asks me… Am I thirsty?

Not thirsty for fame, possessions, passion, or “romance.”
We’ve drunk from those pools. They are salt water in the desert. They don’t quench—quite often they kill.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. . . .”
God’s Righteousness.
That’s what Jesus wants us to be thirsty for.

Sometimes, we crave a clean slate.

Sometimes, we yearn for a fresh start. We pray for a hand that will enter the dark cavern of our world and do for us the one thing we can’t do
for ourselves—make us right again.

I’m so glad Jesus entered my dark cavern and restored my life.


Some days, depression can sneak in, discouragement, old thoughts.
Today, my prayer is that wherever you may be, God is present with you, guiding and accompanying you as you strive to allow God to create in you a pure and compassionate heart for Him each day.

May the Holy Spirit fill you fresh today with His Love and Overcoming Power .
