A prayer for this new school year...

Eternal God, we pray for your blessing on ALL schools… that they may be places of learning and safety where teachers and staff challenge the minds and nurture the hearts of ALL students. Grant that ALL teachers, students, staff, families, *and* our communities work together in mutual respect and find joy in the challenges of academic life; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and our Lord. We are truly privileged to be in a position to award GRAND TRAVERSE INDUSTRIES (GTI) a grant of $3,000.00 from our MISSION ENDOWMENT (MEF)... to support the incredibly important work that they do!

Grand Traverse Industries provides job training, supported employment and day programs for people with developmental disabilities. We support a wide variety of work opportunities with our large community support.

Happy Independence Day from Lutheran Disaster Response.

As we celebrate the Fourth of July, we give thanks for the blessings of community, freedom, and the opportunity to serve our neighbors in times of need.

Across the country, Lutheran Disaster Response walks alongside individuals, families, and communities recovering from disasters, responding with compassion, hope, and God's love. This holiday reminds us that our strength is found not only in our independence, but also in our commitment to one another.

As you gather with family and friends, we invite you to keep in your prayers all those affected by disasters and those working tirelessly to support recovery efforts.

May your Independence Day be filled with joy, gratitude, and hope.
