A beautiful memory of my childhood is when I saw my mother, Carmen, participating in a Bible lesson one day. I asked her teacher if I could receive the same discipleship lessons, since the crossword puzzles and word-search puzzles in the lesson booklet had caught my attention. Another day, Mo...

Sermon Daily Devotion 3: Reclaiming Your Sandbox
๐Ÿ“– Scripture: Then Jesus came to them and said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:18, 20
๐Ÿ’ญReflection: As we slide into the weekend, look back at the mountain where Jesus gave His disciples the Great Commission. When He claimed "all authority in heaven and on earth, "He was using creation language. He was looking out over the world and declaring, "The sandbox that humanity broke with sin? I have officially reclaimed it." Jesus stepped directly into the dirt of His own creation to fix it. And right before He left, He didn't leave them standing stranded like someone dropped off at an airport curb. He gave a promise of absolute, present reality: "I am with you." Because of the Trinity, you are wrapped in an eternal circle. The Father designed you, the Son walks beside you, and the Spirit lives within you. No matter how heavy your burdens are today, the God of the cosmic beginning is the exact same God holding your personal present and your eternal future.
๐Ÿ™Prayer: Lord, thank You that I am never, ever alone. Help me to rest in Your presence this weekend, knowing that the entire Triune God holds my life perfectly in His hands. Amen.

Sermon Daily Devotion 2: The Weight of the Word
๐Ÿ“– Scripture: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. he was with God in the beginning. through him all things were made... John 1:1-3
๐Ÿ’ญReflection: Words carry immense weight. A judge says, "Not guilty," and the prisoner's future changes in an instant. A parent says, "I am so proud of you," and a child's confidence climbs. Human words create realities - but when God speaks, the results are cosmic. When God said, "Let there be light," in Genesis, He didn't just throw soundwaves into a vacuum. the Apostle John reveals that this spoken word was actually a Person: Jesus. Jesus is the eternal Word through whom the Father spun the universe into motion while the Spirit hovered. The exact same voice that commanded light out of darkness is the voice of the resurrected Jesus who walks with you mid-week. When the anxieties, deadlines, and noise of the world get loud, tune your heart back into the Word. Let the voice that holds the stars be loudest voice you listen to today.
๐Ÿ™ Prayer: Jesus, speak Your light into the dark or confusing areas of my life today. Help me to tune out the noise of the world and lock my ears onto Your truth. Amen.

Sermon Daily Devotion

The Hovering Spirit
๐Ÿ“– Scripture: The earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. - Genesis 1:2
๐Ÿ’ญ Reflection: Welcome to Monday. If your week is already kicking off with a flood of emails, an overwhelming to-do list, or unexpected stress, your morning might feel a bit like Genesis 1:2 - formless, empty, and chaotic. But look closely at what God does before he ever speaks a word or creates light; His Spirit hovers. The original Hebrew word for "hovering" is rachaph, which describes a mother bird gently warming her nest, protecting and preparing to bring life out of the dark. You don't have to fix the chaos of your week by yourself before God shows up. His Spirit is already hovering over your Monday morning, ready to bring order, peace, and life out of whatever is stressing you out. Take a deep breath. The eternal circle of His love surrounds you today. You aren't stranded.
๐Ÿ™ Prayer: Holy Spirit, hover over my chaotic schedule today. Bring Your peace into my stress, and remind me that You are working even in the messy places. Amen.
