About Our Leader
J. Jerome Johnson was born in El Paso, Texas to Stella P. Johnson Sr. Pastor Johnson received his calling into the ministry at the age of 12 and was preaching under his fathers’ supervision and guidance. Though, not the eldest of the twelve siblings, Pastor Johnson was the first to begin the ministry of preaching of which he has been doing for many years. There are currently eight of the twelve siblings that have embraced their call into the ministry. As the proud father of four grown children, Pastor Johnson has had the pleasure of seeing his eldest son and his youngest daughter follow in his footsteps as ministers. (His other children are active in the church work, as well.) Pastor Johnson is an Overseer in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International and the Proud pastor of The Praise Temple FGBC located in El Paso TX. After graduating from High School in El Paso, Texas, Pastor Johnson entered the U.S. Navy where he served four years of active duty and 2 years of reserve duty and was honorably discharged. Upon completion of his military service, he embarked upon a degree in Psychology from Howard College in Big Spring, Texas. Later he went on to attend Wayland Baptist University in Lubbock, Texas. Pastor Johnson obtained a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Degree from the World Institute of Religious Education, in Farmington, New Mexico. But he did not stop there, Pastor Johnson also completed a bachelor’s in social work, from Lubbock Christian University and a Master of Counseling from Wayland Baptist University. Pastor Johnson enrolled at Amarillo College for Mortuary Science, where he completed his studies and now working as Provisional Funeral Director. Pastor Johnson is currently seeking his second PhD in Servant Leadership Studies at the Regent University of Virginia Beach, Va. He continues to serve the Lord with all his heart and to love the people of God through his teaching, preaching, and training as he seeks to Better Lives for the sake of the Kingdom.
