Today we celebrate the Patron Saint of Catechists: St. Pius X! 🙏📖
Today we give thanks for all catechists who faithfully share the gift of faith with children, young people, adults, and families.
St. Pius X is honored as the patron saint of catechists because of his deep commitment to teaching the faith and making the Gospel accessible to all. As pope, he strongly promoted catechesis and the religious instruction of children, encouraging the faithful to know Christ, love Him, and receive Him in the Eucharist. His life reminds us that passing on the faith is not simply teaching information—it is helping others encounter Jesus and grow in friendship with Him.

Being a catechist means lending your voice to Jesus, sharing His love, and helping others discover the joy of faith.
To every catechist of the Diocese of El Paso: thank you for teaching with patience, praying for every child, young person, and family, and never growing weary of proclaiming the Gospel.
St. Pius X, patron saint of catechists, intercede for each of you and strengthen you in this beautiful vocation of bringing everyone closer to Christ.

Thank you for your dedication, your patience, and your “yes” to God!
Happy Catechist Day! 🙏❤️📖
