🚨 El Paso rideshare drivers warned: ‘Don’t be used by the cartel'

Rideshare drivers in El Paso are being cautioned that cartels may be using them in smuggling operations.

The U.S. Border Patrol is warning rideshare drivers that criminal smugglers are utilizing legitimate mobile apps to avoid law enforcement, and are arranging pickups in secluded desert locations, remote highway shoulders near the border wall, or commercial staging lots.

In an interview with Fox News, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Jose Navarro warned that cartels may be exploiting members of the public, including rideshare drivers.

"They want to be able to use the public, and our message is don't be used by the cartel," Navarro said in the Fox News report.

The Border Patrol is urging rideshare drivers to look out for indicators of smuggling, including passengers wearing heavily soiled clothing, groups attempting to exceed vehicle occupant limits, or passengers who appear visually stressed and unaware of their current location.
