Thank you to everyone who had any part in the large comfort dinner we served last Saturday for nearly 200 family and friends of Colby Acheson. Our ladies are amazing and are so willing to help. It was a big day but it went very well thanks to great cooks (salads and cakes) and strong legs!

RESPONSIVE READING 380
L: Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world. He loved them to the end. And Jesus said;
C: “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.”
L: “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”
C: “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
L: Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
C: Neither height no depth, nor any other created thing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
L: For the love of Christ compels us.
C: May you be rooted and established in the love of Christ. May you be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height of the love of Christ. May you know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.
L: May you be filled with all the fullness of God.
C: This is My commandment that you love one another as I have loved you.

*HYMN 431 Shine, Jesus, Shine
Lord, the light of Your love is shining, In the midst of the darkness shining; Jesus, Light of the world, shine upon us, Set us free by the truth You now bring us; Shine on me, Shine on me.
Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory. Blaze, Spirit, blaze set our hearts on fire. Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy. Send forth Your Word, Lord, and let there be light.

Lord, I come to Your awesome presence, From the shadows into Your radiance; by the blood I may enter Your brightness; Search me, try me, consume all my darkness; Shine on me, Shine on me.
Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory. Blaze, Spirit, blaze set our hearts on fire. Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy. Send forth Your Word, Lord, and let there be light.

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness So our faces display Your likeness, Ever changing from glory to glory; Mirrored here, may our lives tell Your story; Shine on me, Shine on me.
Shine, Jesus, shine, fill this land with the Father’s glory. Blaze, Spirit, blaze set our hearts on fire. Flow, river, flow, flood the nations with grace and mercy. Send forth Your Word, Lord, and let there be light.

RESPONSIVE READING 475
L: Love suffers long and is kind.
C: Love does not envy. Love does not parade itself. Love is not puffed up. Loves does not behave rudely.
L: Love does not seek its own.
C: Love is not provoked. Love thinks no evil.
L: Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.
C: Love bears all things. Love believes all things. Love hopes all things. Love endures all things. Love never fails.
L: But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
C: And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH
Lord’s Prayer [sins/sin against]

READING OF GOD’S WORD: ROMANS 13:8-14, PB 1048
8 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. 9 The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. 11 And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.
14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.

PROCLAMATION OF GOD’S WORD: Law of Love

*HYMN 604 I Then Shall Live
I then shall live as one who’s been forgiven; I’ll walk with joy to know my debts are paid. I know my name is clear before my Father; I am His child, and I am not afraid. So greatly pardoned, I’ll forgive my brother; The law of love I gladly will obey.

I then shall live as one who’s learned compassion; I’ve been so loved that I’ll risk loving too. I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges; I dare to see another’s point of view. And when relationships demand commitment, Then I’ll be there to care and follow through.

Your kingdom come around and thro’ and in me, Your pow’r and glory—let them shine thro’ me. Your Hallowed Name, O may I bear with honor, And may Your living Kingdom come in me. The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor, And may You feed a hungry world thro’ me.

L: We did not make the Faith.
C: No, it is making us.
L: This is the very truth of God.
C: Not any invention of any mortal.
L: Let us confess the faith of our baptism as we say:
I believe in God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come again to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

OFFFERING
*DOXOLOGY 815
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him, all creatures here below. Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

*PRAYER OF DEDICATION:
Lord, may we be sent forth in your power to witness about you in all we say and do. With these offerings may we proclaim the Good News we believe. With these gifts may we go into the world in the joy of the Gospel. To you be all honor and glory, now and forever. Amen.

*HYMN 464 Come to the Table
Come to the table of mercy, Prepared with the wine and the bread; All who are hungry and thirsty, Come and your souls will be fed. Come at the Lord’s invitation; Receive from His nail-scarred hand. Eat of the bread of salvation; Drink of the blood of the Lamb.

CALL TO THE TABLE
L: Lift up your Hearts.
C: We lift them up to the Lord.
L: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
C: It is right to give him thanks and praise.

*HYMN 429 They’ll Know We Are Christians
We are one in the Spirit; we are one in the Lord. We are one in the spirit; we are one in the Lord. And we pray that all unity may one day be restored.
REFRAIN:
And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.

We will walk with each other; we will walk hand in hand. We will walk with each other; we will walk hand in hand. And together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land.
REFRAIN:
And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.

We will work with each other, we will work side by side. We will work with each other, we will work side by side. And we’ll guard each one’s dignity and save each one’s pride.
REFRAIN:
And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.

All praise to the Father from whom all things come. And all praise to Christ Jesus, His only Son. And all praise to the Spirit, who makes us one.
REFRAIN:
And they’ll know we are Christians by our love, by our love. Yes, they’ll know we are Christians by our love.

L: Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.
C: Lord, hear my voice!
L: Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!
C: If you, O Lord , should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?
L: But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.
C: I wait for the Lord , my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning, more than those who watch for the morning.
L: O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love, and with him is great power to redeem. It is he who will redeem Israel from all its iniquities.

*HYMN 207 We Have Come to Join in Worship
We have come to join in worship And adore the Lord our God. Let us come in prayer, expecting God to speak His mighty Word. All is vain unless the Spirit Of the Holy One comes down. Christians, pray, and holy manna Will be showered all around.

See them gather all around you, Those He bought at such a cost; See the weary, see the hurting, See the lonely, see the lost. Be His hand, and touch the needy; Be His gospel, let it sound! Be His body, and sweet manna Will be showered all around.

Let us love our God supremely; Let us love each other too. Let us care for all His people Till our God makes all things new. Christ will call us home to heaven; At His banquet we'll sit down; Christ Himself will rise and serve us Living manna all around.

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH
Lord’s Prayer (sins/sin against)

READING OF GOD’S WORD: Ephesians 2:1-10
1 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. 4 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

PROCLAMATION OF GOD’S WORD:
Saved

*HYMN 438 Jesus Saves! 1,3,4
We have heard the joyful sound: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Spread the tidings all around: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Bear the news to every land; Climb the steeps and cross the waves. Onward! 'tis the Lord's command. Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Sing above the battle strife; Jesus saves! Jesus saves! By His death and endless life, Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Sing it softly thro' the gloom When the heart for mercy craves; Sing in triumph o'er the tomb: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

Give the winds a mighty voice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Let the nations now rejoice: Jesus saves! Jesus saves! Shout salvation full and free, Highest hills and deepest caves; This our song of victory: Jesus saves! Jesus saves!

RESPONSIVE READING 646
L: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
C: Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
L: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
C: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
L: Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put into practice.
C: And the God of peace will be with you.

*HYMN 655 Sanctuary
Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true; With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for You. Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true; With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for You. I’ll be a living sanctuary for You.

RESPONSIVE READING 658
L: How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
C: And that is what we are!
L: Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known.
C: But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
L: Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. This is how we know what love is:
C: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
L: If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words, but with actions and in truth.
L: This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence whenever our hearts condemn us.
L: For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything. Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from Him anything we ask, because we obey His commands and do what pleases Him.
L: Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting.

PRAYER OF THE CHURCH
Lord’s Prayer [sins/sin against]

READING OF GOD’S WORD: Romans 12:1-8, PB 1047
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. 3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

PROCLAMATION OF GOD’S WORD: Grace Gratitude Living

*HYMN 597 Take My Life and Let It Be Consecrated
Take my life and let it be Consecrated, Lord to Thee; Take my moments and my days—Let them flow in ceaseless praise, Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands and let them move At the impulse of Thy love; Take my feet and let them be Swift and beautiful for Thee, swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing Always, only, for my King; Take my lips and let them be Filled with messages from Thee, Filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold—Not a mite would I withhold; Take my intellect and use Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose, Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

Take my love—my Lord I pour At Thy feet its treasure store; Take myself—and I will be Ever, only, all for Thee, Ever, only, all for Thee.

Take my will and make it Thine—It shall be no longer mine; Take my heart—it is Thine own, It shall be Thy royal throne, It shall be Thy royal throne.
