On the 250th anniversary weekend of the United States, American Catholics joined the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage through the streets of Philadelphia—walking 2 miles from the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul to the National Shrine of St. John Neumann during a Eucharistic procession following the closing Mass of the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage. The journey began in St. Augustine, Florida in May, stopped in the Diocese of Charleston and made its way up the east coast of the US until arriving in Pennsylvania on July 2nd.
