Lesson 13 • Childlike Faith
Bible Basis: Luke 18:15-17; Mark 10:16
Bible Truth: Jesus taught that to receive the gift of the Kingdom of God, the faithful must become as Children.
Memory Verse: Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. - Luke 18:17
Lesson AIM: By the end of the lesson, students will: KNOW Jesus valued children and that they were models for His Kingdom; BELIEVE that we should seek to cultivate in ourselves the qualities of children; and COMMIT to self-examinations and improvements with childlike faith.

Life Need for Today's Lesson: Children's openness to life is a worthy model for everyone.
Bible Learning: Jesus placed a high value on children and their ability to show openness and trust.
Bible Application: Believers should develop a childlike faith that cultivates a deeper trust, respects, and honors God.

Bible Basis: Luke 18:9-14
Bible Truth: Jesus taught that prayer spoken in humility has power spoken self-rightousness
Memory Verse: And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. - Luke 18:13
Lesson AIM: By the end of the lesson, students will: KNOW why the Pharisee's words were wrong and the tax collector's words were right; APPRECIATE God's mercy and grace and INSPECT, and if necessary correct, our motivation for our own piety.
Life Need for Today's Lesson: The faithful wonder whether their words, which are sometimes spoken out of desperation, will make a difference.
Bible Learning: Humble faith allows the power and presence of God to prevail.
Bible Application: Humility is marked by the person who credits God and others for his or her success.
