Being led by faith, he collaboratively formed the name "Everlasting Word Christian Church" and began to bring the vision to pass. On November 9, 2000, Elder Smith held a Bible Study at his home with family and friends and the first worship service on November 12, 2000. With unfeigned love and support for Pastor Smith and his vision, Greater Rehoboth Church of God in Christ in Dearborn, Michigan op
ened their doors and this shepherd led his flock to worship services at their chapel. Still operating by faith and continuing with the vision given him, Pastor Smith pursued, and was blessed with a new church home and parsonage at 14861-14873 Collinson in Eastpointe, Michigan. After many laborious days and nights of construction and reconstruction, painting , cleaning and building, Everlasting Word was able to occupy their new edifice in July 2001. Subsequently, the consecration service was held on September 16, 2001 where the congregation dedicated themselves, joined by Jamison Temple Baptist Church (Pastor Homer & Co-Pastor Royal Jamison), Maiden House (Pastor Mathis), and a host of ministers, family & friends. On January 17, 2009, Pastor Smith and the EWCC Family moved to a new building located at 22707 Harmon, St. As Pastor Smith continues to work and diligently following the vision, he is constantly welcoming new members to the congregation, and as a result, growing God's Kingdom. With God's blessing and Pastor Smith's faith in His Promises, Everlasting Word Christian Church will continue to grow, love, and nurture the people that God has given him.
