CONGRATULATIONS and every blessing to Griffin Gaggero and Julia Johnston, joined in Holy Matrimony on Saturday, June 6th at Holy Angels Church in Basehor. Father Bill presided at the wedding liturgy. May their marriage be filled with grace and lasting joy.

A GOSPEL THOUGHT: Jesus says, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.” As Catholics, we believe those words are not just a symbol or a memory. They are true. Jesus is with us, abides with us, in the Holy Eucharist.
That is why every Catholic church has a tabernacle. It is not simply a beautiful locked safe. It is the dwelling place of the Lord. The same Jesus who walked the roads of Galilee, who died on the Cross, and who rose from the dead is truly present there.
And that is why the sanctuary lamp burns day and night, quietly proclaiming that Jesus is here. Even when the church is empty, Christ is still there. Waiting. Listening. Loving.
Too often we pass by a Catholic church without thinking about Who is inside. Yet the King of the universe is present within, hidden under the appearance of bread.

On Corpus Christi, deepen your Eucharistic awareness. Remember that Christ promised to be with us always.

ST. JOSEPH CHURCH PICNIC: will be held June 28, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM, at the St. Joseph Church (Basement), 306 N. Broadway, LVN. The Picnic Menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, salads & ice cream. $10 for adults; $5 for kids (ages 12 and under). There will be a raffle for a quilt, a raffle for cash prices, and games for the kids. Come enjoy the fun.

PIANO RECITAL: Pianist, Lio Kuok-Wai, will give a piano recital on Sunday, June 21 at 3 PM at Immaculate Conception Church (711 N. Fifth St, Leavenworth, KS). Lio Kuok-Wai made his concerto debut at age 10 with the Macau Orchestra at the 2000 Macau Arts Festival. He studied piano at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Yale University, the University of Kansas, and the International Center for Music at Park University. He has performed at some of the world’s most renowned venues and collaborated with leading orchestras and conductors, including the China Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Camerata Salzburg, and Houston Symphony. Please come and enjoy the recital. The recital is free; donations will be accepted to benefit the Leavenworth Recreation Activity Scholarship Program.
