As we prepare our hearts for this Sunday, let’s come with open hearts and ready ears to hear what God has for us.

“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 4:9

We’ll be learning about what it means to build a healthy church community and how we can each take steps to become more involved, connected, and engaged in the life of the church.

One of the most dangerous things that can happen when you disobey God is that it works.

The shortcut works. The compromise gets results. And because it worked, you assume it must have been right.

That’s the deceptive power of pragmatism.

In 2 Samuel 3, David and Abner remind us that something can work without being faithful. Instead of asking:

What will strengthen me?
What will advance me?
What will satisfy me?

Maybe we need to ask a better question:

“Lord, what is Your will for me?”

This morning, Pastor Brian continued our study on the Life of David, preaching from 2 Samuel 3:1–11. As we looked at this passage, we were reminded how easy it can be to justify decisions because they seem practical, beneficial, or helpful in the moment. But following God isn’t ultimately about doing what seems best to us - it’s about seeking His will.

Pastor Brian challenged us to ask, “What is the Lord’s will for me?”

Following that challenge, we took communion together and worshiped as one body, remembering Christ’s sacrifice and the grace that calls us to follow Him.

May we be people who continually seek God’s will above our own and trust Him to lead us faithfully.

Community matters.

We were never meant to walk through life alone. Sometimes showing up looks like a prayer, a text, a meal, an encouraging word, or simply being there.

We need each other to carry burdens, celebrate joys, and point one another back to Christ.

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11 ESV

There is something beautiful about childlike faith.

Children often believe with a simple trust. They ask questions, they depend on others, and they aren't afraid to admit when they don't understand. Jesus calls us to have that same kind of humble, trusting faith in Him.

Faith isn't about having every answer. It's about trusting the One who does.

“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 18:3

May we never outgrow our need for Jesus. May we continue to trust Him, depend on Him, and follow Him with a childlike faith.

What a great Sunday at Wildwood Church! Pastor Bob walked us through Psalm 1 with a powerful reminder of what it means to “Live by the Book.”

We were challenged to:
- Live Differently than the world around us
- Live Daily in the Word God has given us
- Live Decisively in the way God leads us

May we not just hear God’s Word on Sunday, but live by it every day.

Every Sunday, Wildwood Church offers Kids Ministry and Nursery during both service times for children from newborn through 5th grade.

But we always welcome Family Worship too! Whether your kids join Kids Ministry or worship alongside you, there’s a place for your whole family at Wildwood.

You don’t have to have kids to join us! Come on your own, bring a friend, or come with your family—we’d love to worship with you.
