This is one of those passages people quote quickly and read slowly.

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin... For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law." — Romans 5:12-13 KJV

Paul makes the same point again a few chapters earlier: "for by the law is the knowledge of sin." — Romans 3:20 KJV

Follow the logic. Sin is identified by law. Remove the standard and you have removed the definition. Bro. Hall reads Romans 5 and Bro. Avery raises a fair question: a man will not throw out his own law, so why do we assume God threw out His?

We know this subject brings strong opinions, and we welcome them. But bring the text with you. Comment your verse, not just your view, and we'll read it together.

Better yet, come say it in person. We do this every Sabbath.

"Which are you following, the commandments of men or God?"

Bro. Avery asks it straight, with Bro. Mark reading Matthew 15. And it's not a trick question. Jesus raised it Himself, and He was not gentle about it.

"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." — Matthew 15:8-9 KJV

The word "vain" means empty. Sincere worship built on the wrong foundation still comes back empty.

We're not asking anyone to abandon what they believe on the strength of a video. We're asking something more reasonable than that: open Matthew 15:7-9 and compare what you practice against what you read. If it holds up, wonderful. If it doesn't, you deserve to know.

Come reason with us. We ask hard questions here and nobody gets shamed for asking one.
