StRaphaelparish

StRaphaelparish Catholic Church, East Meadow, NY Our Parish Mission Statement:
We, the parishioners of St Raphael’s are a community of disciples of Jesus Christ.

As stewards of His Gospel and as companions on a common journey to God, we are committed to welcome one another as active participants in worship and service so that like our patron, St. Raphael, we might be messengers of healing in a broken world.

In a world that moves fast, we invite you to slow down and walk with Jesus. It’s not a performance. It’s not a parade. It’s a prayer.

The Corpus Christi Procession is a chance to step out into the world with Jesus, to bring His peace, His presence, and His love into the places we live.

On Corpus Christi Sunday, we step out of the rush and into something sacred: a walk with Jesus in the Eucharist, through our streets and among our neighbors.
It’s simple. It’s powerful. And you can be a part of it.

So take a break from the usual.
Come walk with us. Walk with Him.
Let your Sunday be more than ordinary.

Help us prepare the way for Jesus!

As we get ready for our Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession, we invite everyone to join us for Chalk the Walk.

Together, we’ll decorate the sidewalks and driveway around the church with colorful chalk art celebrating the Eucharist, our faith, and the joy of Christ’s presence among us. During the Corpus Christi procession, the Blessed Sacrament will pass along these paths, making this a beautiful and prayerful way to prepare our parish grounds for this special celebration.

We’ve returned to Ordinary Time—but there’s nothing “ordinary” about it.

The word comes from the Latin "ordinalis", meaning “ordered”—because this season gives structure to our life of faith.

Ordinary Time invites us to stay Centered on Christ in the midst of our daily routines. It’s a season of steady growth, quiet listening, and faithful living—following Jesus not just on the mountaintops, but in the everyday.

🟢 Green is the color of this season—symbolizing life, hope, and renewal.

Let this be a time of grounding and grace, where we walk with Christ through the ordinary and find Him there.

Lord, You are the fullness of life, holiness, and joy. Fill our days and nights with Your wisdom, that we may bear fruit in the beauty of holiness.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day | We Remember and Pray
As we enjoy the blessings of rest and time with loved ones, we pause to remember the true meaning of this day.

Today we honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country—on distant battlefields and here at home. They answered the call to defend freedom, protect the innocent, and stand by their brothers and sisters in arms.

🕊️ May their courage be remembered.
🕊️ May their example inspire future generations.
🕊️ May their sacrifice be honored in love.
🕊️ And may their souls rest in the embrace of our merciful God.

We pray for peace in our world, and for all who continue to serve.

At our Pentecost Vigil last night, we were blessed to celebrate three parishioners receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation from Fr. Leo and becoming more deeply rooted in our family of faith.

As we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit, we give thanks for His presence in all of our lives — guiding, strengthening, and drawing us closer together in faith.

The Descent of the Holy Spirit- the Third Glorious Mystery.

"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance" (Acts 2:1-4).
