Come join us for a time of food and fellowship at Missio's Heritage Potluck! We're asking everyone to bring a dish that is connected to your own culture or upbringing, so we can share and celebrate the uniqueness of our different backgrounds and experiences. Please sign up so we know how many people to expect—we hope to see you there!

Missio now has a new website! After several months of work, we're excited to see everything finally come together, and we pray that it will be a helpful tool for both the organization and mission of our church!

Missio Durham strives to be a church where people from all backgrounds and walks of life can experience Jesus and share his transforming love in community with others.

We're excited to announce that Chantel Warman has joined Missio's team as the new Children's Ministry Director! A long-time Durham resident, Chantel has over a decade of experience in teaching preschool. She loves people and feels that adults can learn so much just by being in relationship with children. She lives with her husband, Jack, and her in-laws, and she has two adult children, Kayleigh and Jackson.

We asked Chantel a few get-to-know-you questions:
- Who is your favorite Disney villain? Stitch
- What was your favorite book as a child? The Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder
- What is the least amount of money you'd accept to eat a spider? $1000
- What excites you about taking on this role? I love kids and being a part of helping them grow in their relationship with Jesus!

This poetic prayer by Walter Brueggemann touches on many of the themes we've explored in our recent sermon series on Samuel, "The Listening Servant." May God continue to do his good work, to "sweep yet and make new."

In last Sunday's sermon, Didi reminded us of how Jesus is the perfect king, and that we will one day rule with him. May you rest in this promise today! (And if you'd like to hear the whole sermon, you can find it on Spotify).

You don't have to have everything figured out. Just come and experience the goodness of Jesus with us.

This past Sunday, Didi showed how Samuel’s intercession for the people of Israel points us to the greater mediation of Jesus. May you rest more deeply in Christ’s work on your behalf this week! (And if you’d like to listen to the whole sermon, you can find it at the link in our profile).

At Missio, we believe we need each other to live full lives as Christ followers. Our Missio Groups are one of the ways we build community within our church and encourage each other to live missionally. Currently, we have two groups that meet on Wednesday and Thursday nights. If you'd like to visit a group, you can find more details on our website!

In our sermon this past Sunday, Didi reminded us of the importance of heeding the voice of God and the voices of others who speak faithfully of him! May you be more attuned to his voice this week. (And if you’d like to listen to the whole sermon, you can find it at Spotify).

Every other month, Missio Creatives gather to discuss an aspect of the creative life. This month, join us for a casual conversation over some delicious snacks and wine about the creatives practices that sustain us as artists. We'll also close with a time of prayer for each other. All are welcome!
