With heavy hearts, we had to say goodbye to our Youth Pastor Matt Weems and his wonderful family. He has been called to be a full-time pastor at a new church. We appreciate the dedication he and his family have had towards our church and ministry. We have been blessed with all that you have done for the church and it's youth. Many blessings to you and your family in the future.

In 1912, C. Austin Miles wrote the lyrics and then the musical score to the beautiful hymn, "In the Garden." He was inspired by Mary Magdalene's Resurrection morning encounter with Jesus Christ. However, the need for that "garden encounter" is foreshadowed by two other Garden moments. Join me tomorrow at Duncanville Methodist Church at 9 am for Sunday Worship as we look at our own journey through those gardens to the garden of new life where we meet Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer. Come Worship with us and stay for brunch and snacks afterward. Everyone welcome and I certainly would love for any of my friends from over the years to come and visit with us.

Another Sunday of Worship is on the way and I am looking forward to our Praise and Worship at Duncanville Methodist Church. Our theme song tomorrow is "The Lily of the Valley" and I will be preaching from Philippians 3:1-11 and our Call to Worship will be from Song of Solomon (Songs) 2:1-4. Join me at 9 am, We will Worship and share in the goodness of GOD with "Whosoever." I say weekly that ALL or EVERYONE is Welcome. I mean that. If you are looking for a place to worship, and if that still small voice in your spirit is leading you to Duncanville Methodist Church, then come on, you will not only be welcomed, but you will leave blessed. See you in the morning at 9 am.

Revelation 22:20 says, "He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!"

In the early days of the Covid Pandemic, Steven McWhirter, his wife Tara, and a couple of friends wrote a prayerful song that has become one of the most powerful Contemporary releases in recent years. Whether it is McWhirter's version, CeCe Winan, or a local Church Worship leader like Steph Stephanie (Farmer) singing the lyrics, the song is a beautiful call to to Jesus to come to us in the midst of this everyday life and bring comfort, peace, healing, and ultimately give us victory over the heartache and pain that we experience in this world. I can't speak for you, but the Holy Spirit speaks to me through that song in a mighty way, reminding me that the Jesus that lives today within His followers will one day allow us to be in His presence face to
Face.

I look forward to worship tomorrow at Duncanville Methodist Church at 9 am. It is with the congregation of believers that I get a glimpse of what the future of Revelation 22 will look like. Feel free to visit with us tomorrow. It don't matter what you struggle with, what your past looks like, where you're from, or how many times you have started walking in faith and fell flat on your face. Come worship with us, let the words "Come Jesus Come" be a prayer of invitation for Jesus to become the Savior and Healer of your spirit. Let us sing together, "Come Jesus Come, Let today be the day."

In Isaiah Chapter 6, the Prophet finds himself in a vision standing in the throne room of GOD. He feels totally inadequate, unworthy to be in GOD's presence, yet he is forgiven of sins and anointed for service. The LORD asks the question "Whom shall we send and who shall go for us?" Isaiah responds "Here am I, send me."
In Matthew Chapter 4, Jesus walks along the shore and calls 4 fishermen to leave the security of their nets and "follow me." Peter and Andrew, James and John, respond by immediately following Jesus. It is the beginning of their preparation to be sent out as Apostles when Jesus had ascended back to Heaven.
Sunday morning at 9 am, at Duncanville Methodist Church, you are invited to join our church family in worship as we Rejoice in the Day that the LORD has made. I will be continuing my Sermon Series pairing hymns and praise and worship songs with scripture. Tomorrow's featured hymn is "Here I Am LORD" written by Dan Shutte in 1979 as an act of worship for an upcoming Ordination Mass.
Everyone is welcome as we celebrate the goodness of GOD in Praise, Prayer, Fellowship, and Word.
Come to Worship and stick around for a sausage biscuit, a donut, a cup of coffee, or whatever other available dish or drink that you like.

When I was a kid, we moved more than once or twice as my dad would follow the appointments to different churches around North Alabama. Moving schools is hard but it can also be exciting. Beginning a new school year can also be challenging, but it can also be a time of excitement.

I took every move with the idea of a fresh start, a new beginning, a new me. Believe me. That comes loaded with pros and cons. Some moves were harder and left me feeling isolated and distant. To cope, I isolated and became distant. That became my persona.

Other moves were exciting and gave me the opportunity to see myself and others with a sense of newness.

As the school year starts up again, teachers are prepping their classrooms, parents are doing last minutes school shopping, and our students are either super excited or totally bummed. No matter how they may be feeling, there is an opportunity to begin the school year with a new perspective - not what the world says, not what friends say, but with what God says.

That's what I will be discussing tomorrow at 5pm during youth at Duncanville Methodist Church. So, if you have students that could hear some good news about how much our God loves and cares about them, they are welcome to join us. As always, we will have some game time, get into worship and the Word, and eat afterwards.

I always invite parents to come checkout what it's all about. I know how important it is to know what information and influence my five kids are getting. I expect the same from other parents.

Your kids might be asking a similar question. They are invited to hear God’s response!

'And Gideon said to him, “Please, my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.”'
Judges 6:13
