Pentecost Sunday, May 24, 2026, saw the Spirit of God move throughout the congregation at First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma. We received the Pentecost reading of Acts 2:1-4 and continued the study with Acts 2:5-21, 32-36 at scripture time. We read Psalm 104:24-35 as our unison scripture reading. Reverend Mark Henslee spoke from I Corinthians 12:1-13 in a sermon entitled "Becoming Unified In Christ." We welcomed accompanist Patty Jennings back for a special Sunday for us! First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma enjoyed a wonderful worship service on Ascension Sunday, May 17, 2026. Reverend Mark Henslee spoke from Acts 1:1-11 in a sermon entitled "God Completes His Mission." Congregational scripture was Isaiah 55:6-11, and additional study scripture was Ephesians 1:15-23. Guest accompanist Sherry Hart led us in three traditional hymns and presented thoughtful accompaniments as prelude, offertory, and postlude. First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma enjoyed a beautiful worship service on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The second Sunday of Eastertide, Reverend Mark Henslee spoke from Luke 24:13-35 in a sermon entitled "Seek God's Presence." Our congregational scripture was Psalm 116:1-13, and additional scripture was Isaiah 25:6-9. We loved singing three Resurrection hymns, and Anna Adams filled our service and our sanctuary with music filled with the Holy Spirit. Make a cup of tea, open your Bible on your lap, and enjoy an hour with Father God, Jesus Christ our Messiah, and the Holy Spirit who fills us with hope every day. Resurrection Sunday, April 5, 2026, was a beautiful gift of the Lord to First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma! Reverend Mark Henslee spoke from Colossians 1:13-20 in a sermon entitled "God Wins the Victory." Congregational scripture was Psalm 57; additional readings were Matthew 28:1-10 and I Corinthians 15:20-28. We recited the Nicene Creed together and enjoyed the traditional hymns of Resurrection Sunday.

Palm and Passion Sunday worship was beautiful at First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma! March 29, 2026, began Holy Week with special Palm Sunday scripture, Matthew 21:1-11 and continued in the sermon scripture of Matthew 27:11-56. Congregational scripture was Psalm 118:1-2, 25-29 and the liturgist scripture was Ephesians 2:11-22. Each of these passages is a critical part of the journey to Resurrection Sunday. You will recognize all the traditional hymns, so turn up the volume and sing along! Thanks to Anna Adams for her choir direction and worship music. Thanks to Pastor Mark for leading us down the path. On the fifth Sunday in Lent, March 22, 2026, First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma enjoyed a beautiful service of worship. Reverend Mark Henslee spoke from John Chapter 9 in a sermon entitled "Grace Known In Seeing." This scripture is the important story of Jesus as he heals the man born blind. Congregational scripture was I Samuel 16:1, 6-13. the anointing of David, and additional scripture was Ephesians 5:1-2, 6-14. We celebrated the birthday of Mr. Fred Rogers with a special hymn of response, "Jesus, Teach Us To Be Neighbors." Thank you for praying with us, for singing with us, for sharing scripture with us. You are deeply loved at First Presbyterian Church, Duncan, Oklahoma!

First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma gathered on the fourth Sunday of Lent, March 15, 2026, to worship God. Our Pastor Mark Henslee was not with us, but we were still filled with the Spirit. We give special thanks for our elders Robin Caldwell and Chip Woods, who gave us a wonderful service of worship by leading us in scripture, prayer, and song. Anna Adams, our worship accompanist and choir director, stepped in with the most excellent special music we could imagine. Congregational scripture was I Samuel 16:1, 6-13; additional scripture was Ephesians 5:1-2, 6-14; sermon scripture was John chapter 9. Thank you for joining us for worship here on video. What a blessing it is to gather as a family to pray, sing, and receive the Word of God every Sunday morning. On Sunday, March 8, 2026, First Presbyterian Church of Duncan, Oklahoma received a message from Reverend Mark Henslee entitled "Good News For Broken World People." Scripture for this sermon was Romans 5:1-11. Congregational scripture was Psalm 95, and additional scripture was John 4:5-15, 21-26, where Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well. We spoke the Apostles' Creed as our affirmation of faith. We rejoiced over all the hymns but the sending hymn was truly special, "Open My Eyes, That I May See." Thank you for singing with us, thank you for praying with us, thank you for joining us here. God is with you, and we send you our love in Him!
