HIS PLAN IS THE RIGHT PLAN FOR YOU

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

God canceled your plans to save your life.
He sent you in the opposite direction to avoid danger.
You missed your flight but saved your life.
You didn’t get the job, but there’s a better one ahead.
He fights battles you know nothing about.
His plan is better than yours.
You owe everything to God.
Thank Him with a grateful amen!


On this SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, be patient when things don’t seem to be going your way. Be assured that things are going God’s way. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Trust His plan.

BEAR YOUR CROSS

The young man was feeling discouraged and hopeless. Seeing no way out, he dropped to his knees in prayer. "Lord, I can't go on," he said. "I have too heavy a cross to bear."

The Lord replied, "My son, if you can't bear its weight, just place your cross inside this room. Then go to the room next door and pick any cross you wish."

The man was filled with relief. "Thank you, Lord," he sighed, and did as he was told.

As he looked around the room, he saw many different crosses; some so large that the tops were not visible. Then he spotted a tiny cross leaning against a far wall. "I'd like that one, Lord," he whispered.

And the Lord replied, "My son, that's the cross you brought in."

On this SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, take time to weigh your blessings instead of weighing your crosses. Your blessings far outweigh the crosses you bear. There are no crown-wearers in heaven who were not cross-bearers on earth.

ENTERING INTO THE DIVINE MERCY

With St. Faustina, let us pray:
Eternal Father,
I offer You the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity
Of Your Dearly Beloved Son,
Our Lord, Jesus Christ,
In atonement for our sins
And for those of the whole world.

On this SPIRITUAL WORKOUT WEDNESDAY, pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and extend mercy to others as Christ has extended His mercy to you.

THE CRUCIFIX: THE BOOK OF LIFE

If you would like to know God,
look at the Crucifix!

If you hope for eternal happiness,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wonder how much God loves you,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wonder how much God wants you in heaven,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wonder how God tries to prevent you from the yawning jaws of hell,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wonder how much God will help you to save your immortal soul,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wonder how much you should forgive others,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wonder how much your faith demands of you, in humility, poverty, charity, meekness, and every other virtue, look at the Crucifix!

If you want to know what unselfishness and generosity are,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wonder how far your own unselfishness should go to bring others to Christ,
look at the Crucifix!

If you want to understand the need for self-denial and mortification,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wish to live well,
look at the Crucifix!

If you wish to die well,
look at the Crucifix!

~ Saint Thomas Aquinas (1225 – 1274) St. Thomas Aquinas said that he learned more from the crucifix than from all the books of theology that he read. Small wonder!
