🤝 Better Together: Four Churches, One Body 🤝

We invite you to travel with us to Osborne this Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 11:00 AM for our special Combined Worship Service at the Osborne United Methodist Church!

Please note: This combined gathering will be our only morning worship service, there will be no local service in Downs this week. We are looking forward to bringing our congregations from Alton, Downs, Osborne, and Waldo together under one roof to celebrate our shared connection in faith, spirit, and ministry.

We are thrilled to welcome Scott Brewer, Executive Director and Assistant to the Bishop of the Great Plains Conference, as our guest speaker for the morning.

🎒 Special Highlights for Kids & Students:

Blessing of the Backpacks: Students of all ages are encouraged to bring their school backpacks to worship for a special blessing as we kick off the new school year!

Reserved Seating & Activity Bags: A special section of the sanctuary is set aside for younger disciples, and free souvenir activity bags will be available for them to take home.

🍽️Fellowship Meal Update:
Due to forecasted high temperatures and heat indexes, the shared meal following worship will now be held indoors in the Osborne UMC Fellowship Hall where it is cool and comfortable. However, anyone who would still like to enjoy their food outdoors at the park is more than welcome to take their plate over!

Come as you are, carpool with a friend, and let’s celebrate our connection in Christ together!

We can't wait to worship with you at 11:00 AM in Osborne! 👏🙌

🧩 Equipped to Fit 🧩

In a world that pressures us to blend into the background or copy the crowd, how do we find where we truly belong? It’s an invitation to stop hiding our unique design and step into our God-given place as active, coordinated members of Christ’s body.

Please join us this Sunday, August 23, 2026, as we conclude our sermon series, "The Connected Life." Pastor Stacy will share an inspiring message titled “Equipped to Fit.”

Drawing from Paul’s vision of distinct grace-gifts in Romans 12:1–8 and the unshakeable foundation built on real disciples in Matthew 16:13–20, we will explore how we respond, "I will serve with my unique gifts." We will discover how individual isolation vanishes when we embrace how God has uniquely equipped us, calling us forward to thrive together in unity and love.

Whether you are seeking comfort, looking to deepen your faith, or searching for a community where everyone belongs, there is a place waiting for you.

Come as you are, and let’s celebrate this beautiful journey together! We can't wait to worship with you! 👏🙌

âš“ An Unbroken Chain đź”—

How do we carry the heavy anxieties we feel for our children, grandchildren, and loved ones when they wander or struggle? It’s an invitation to trade anxious control for persistent, trusting prayer, resting in the unshakeable promise that God’s covenant with our families outlasts our human fear.

Please join us this Sunday, August 16, 2026, as we continue our sermon series, "The Connected Life." Pastor Stacy will share an inspiring message titled “An Unbroken Chain.”

Drawing from the irrevocable gifts and calling of God in Romans 11:1–2a, 29–32 and the persistent, loving faith of the Canaanite mother in Matthew 15:21–28, we will explore how we respond, "I will trust God with my family." We will discover how we are part of an unbroken chain of divine mercy across generations, calling us forward into deep rest and persistent hope.

Whether you are seeking comfort, looking to deepen your faith, or searching for a community where everyone belongs, there is a place waiting for you.

Come as you are, and let’s continue this beautiful journey together! We can't wait to worship with you! 👏🙌

🌊 Close Enough to Speak 🗣️

When life’s waters get choppy or when conversations turn to matters of faith, what holds us back from speaking up? It’s an invitation to realize that passing on a living legacy of faith doesn't require theological eloquence—it simply requires a willingness to speak authentic trust right where we are.

Please join us this Sunday, August 9, 2026, as we continue our sermon series, "The Connected Life." Pastor Stacy will share an inspiring message titled “Close Enough to Speak.”

Drawing from Paul’s reminder that the word of faith is as near as our lips in Romans 10:5–15 and Jesus calling Peter across the choppy waves in Matthew 14:22–33, we will explore how we respond, "I will speak my trust aloud." We will discover how Christ’s steadying voice meets us in life's storms, calling us forward to share a simple, close-up word of hope with those around us.

Whether you are seeking comfort, looking to deepen your faith, or searching for a community where everyone belongs, there is a place waiting for you.

Come as you are, and let’s continue this beautiful journey together! We can''t wait to worship with you! 👏🙌

🍞 A Familiar Ache 🥖
To care deeply about our neighbors is to occasionally feel a profound, heavy ache. When we look out at the needs, spiritual longings, and physical struggles in our community, how do we keep from feeling overwhelmed by how little we have to offer? It’s an invitation to bring our small offerings to Christ, trusting Him to transform our scarcity into communal abundance.

Please join us this Sunday, August 2, 2026, as we begin our new sermon series, "The Connected Life." Pastor Stacy will share an inspiring message titled “A Familiar Ache”.

Drawing from Paul’s honest reflection on deep care for his people in Romans 9:1–5 and the visceral compassion of Jesus feeding the thousands in Matthew 14:13–21, we will explore how we respond, "I will offer what I have". We will discover how our ache for our community is the very heart of Christ moving within us, calling us forward to break open our lives to feed a hungry world.

We will also share in Holy Communion together this Sunday. In the United Methodist Church, we practice open Communion, which means you don't need to be a member of our church or any church to participate. Christ’s table is open to everyone, without exception.

Whether you are seeking comfort, looking to deepen your faith, or searching for a community where everyone belongs, there is a seat at the table waiting for you.

Come as you are, and let’s begin this beautiful journey together! We can't wait to worship with you! 👏🙌
