Proverbs 16:16 NLT
"How much better to get wisdom than gold, and good judgment than silver."

Dear friends, as I look at what's going on in our world today, I've noticed that much hasn't changed. There are those that still think that having an enormous amount of 'stuff'...money...dollar dollar bills y'all makes you rich.
You have to have the bling bling...trying to impress folks that could care less.

The writer of Proverbs 16:16
has discovered and that writer let's us know that, it's not about the bling, but WISDOM is what we all need.
True wealth my friends is found in WISDOM!
Understand that, silver and gold is temporary. It provides temporary security. It provides
temporary comfort, but WISDOM will give you understanding
and insight which is what's needed instead of material possessions.
Godly WISDOM provides the essential life skills needed to make honorable decisions, and will help you to avoid some of the unnecessary pitfalls that you're facing today.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
For too long there's been a stigma associated with mental health--especially for believers. Only recently have we as Pastors and Spiritual Leaders have begun to address it. Yes, we believe in the power of prayer and yes, God can and will doing anything. But, there's NOTHING wrong with seeking professional help outside of the church.
You see, our brains are susceptible to illness, or breakdowns when something goes wrong in our lives. Catastrophic events take place, especially when paired with shame and guilt or lack of treatment. Trust me, I know from personal experiences.
So, let's pray for not just the knowledge but also the wisdom and understanding related to mental health.

Psalms 91:1-16 NLT
[1] Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. [2] This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. [3] For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. [4] He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. [5] Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. [6] Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. [7] Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. [8] Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. [9] If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, [10] no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. [11] For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. [12] They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone. [13] You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! [14] The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. [15] When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. [16] I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.

My friends, Our God never promised us a world free from danger, but He does promise His help whenever we face danger.

Psalm 91 reassures us that whatever you may be facing in this life; whether sickness, death or a loved one, time in prison, or someone other major loss, that when we learn to pray God's Word back to Him, He will answer. He's obligated by His Word.

So, pray and read this Psalm when you have the opportunity during your day. And not just for yourself, but for someone else who you know needs help.
It will bring great comfort, encouragement, and peace!

Father, we know that Your justice is perfect! Change may come slowly, but Your Word instructs us, "Let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not..." (Galatians 6:9)
Father, help us to want to be like the widow whose consistent prayer and determination brought her justice. (Luke 18:1-8)
Help us to continue praying in faith, holding on to hope for life and better days.
In Jesus name, Amen!

Psalms 84:10 NLT
[10] A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.

The psalmist declared the ONE DAY--just one--in your presence is better than a thousand years anywhere else.
Father, we yearn for that day when there will be no more disabilities, chronic pain and diseases, no more suffering, but just WORSHIP!

There's a song I remember us singing, 'The wicked shall cease from troubling, the weary shall be at rest.
All of the saints and the angels, shall sit at His feet and be blessed. "
Until that day comes, let us remain steadfast and faithful in Your Word.

Lord, how powerful You are! Your way is ALWAYS best. When Your servant Joshua prayed, You stopped the sun and caused the moon to pause in response to his prayer. And since we know and have experienced answered prayers in the past, then why do we struggle with you answering again?
We pray for the healing and deliverance for our children, our parents, our siblings, and yes, we pray for our political and religious leaders too.
Give us all the faith that we need to remain steadfast and unmoveable. That no matter what takes place in our lives that we won't stop praying and praising You for all that You've already done.
I'm truly grateful that you don't take offense to our questions and for the assurance that we find in Your Word.
