St. Joseph Catholic Church - Donna, TX We are a Catholic Community of faith located in the Diocese of Brownsville, Texas, in the Rio Grande Valley. Our parish was founded in 1916. St.

Joseph Church in Donna dates back to the early 1900's. It was built by the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and dedicate on June 18, 1916. Twelve years later on November 12, 1922 it was replaced with a new church. It became an independent parish in 1928 under the direction of Father James Smith, O.M.I. Father Smith built a parochial school, which was directed by the Holy Ghost Sisters from Sa

n Antonio. For a time in the 1950's the parish was placed under the guidance of the Holy Family Fathers. To meet the needs of a growing community, and replace the aging building, a new church was built in 1979. Its mission church, Christ the King in Colonia Nueva, provides for the spiritual needs of the community in the colonia.

🌾💙 HISTORY MADE FOR DONNA FFA! 💙🌾

Donna FFA recently received the honor of sending two candidates to run for Citrus Valley District office, along with a voting delegate! The Citrus Valley District is made up of schools from Palmview all the way through Mercedes and everywhere in between, making this an incredible accomplishment for our chapter. 👏

For the FIRST TIME EVER, Donna ISD will now be represented at the district level by our very own Yetlixa Villarreal, who was selected to serve as the Citrus Valley District Chaplain! 🙌

Yetlixa is a Team Leader in the Altar Server and will be serving as the Donna FFA Chapter President. We could not be more proud of the leadership, dedication, and passion she will bring while representing St. Joseph Catholic Church - Donna, TX, Donna FFA and Donna ISD. ❤️
