So I woke up with a very struggling thought this morning. An acquaintance came to me and we started to talk about the church, denominations, practices, and obedience. He then mentioned to me that he used to attend a church were the pastor made a habit of condemning others continuously via his preachings, that it was obvious the pastor was using his title as a way to manipulate his members instead of bringing peace and prosperity to encourage growth and salvation. In addition the members of the church condemned and shunned his mother and father who visited one day telling them "go back to your own church".
The thought of all this troubled me because we see this kind of activity in almost every church whether it's outspoken activity or whispered hush between gossipers. As members of the church we have to always remain humble, kind, encouraging, and obedient to God. Always keep in mind that the reason you may not be seeing a growth in your church may have to do with ppthe way you and your other members carry themselves in Gods temple as well as outside his temple. It was written "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
Always remember to be a light/vessel for and of God.
