Masjid Wali Muhammad

Masjid Wali Muhammad Masjid Wali Muhammad is home to one of the first and oldest African American Muslim congregations. They moved to their current location on Linwood in 1959.

Their first home was on Hastings Street in Black Bottom and was established by W.D. Fard and led by the Honorable Elijah Mohammad in the early 1930s. Their name changed from Muhammad's Temple No. 1 to Masjid Wali Muhammad in 1978 when the Honorable Warith Deen Muhammad led the former NOI into the Universal Islamic community.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

As salaamu alaikum,

Historic Masjid Wali Muhammad Eid Committee would like to say Alhamdulillah, for a wonderful Eid Al Adha celebration.

We would also like to thank all who donated to the Eid Al Adha Cookout. Be it money, time, manpower, food, drinks, plates & cutlery, face painting backup, or even transportation of grills, your efforts are greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank
•The #1 kitchen’s #1 chef Bro. Clifford, as well as Bro. Jamal for their work to make sure we had some delicious food even though they couldn’t be there to enjoy with us.
•Bro. Trevor, Bro. Umar, & Bro. Anwar for manning the grill.
•Colorful Events for face painting services, and our beloved Sis. Hanifah for volunteering to handle the face painting overflow so the face painter wouldn’t be overwhelmed.
•Our bounce house vendor
•Imam Dr. Tauheed Rashad
•Bro. Shahied Hanifa
•Our DJ Big Fresh
•All who signed up to volunteer
•All who helped with setup, breakdown, & cleanup
•The board of Historic Masjid Wali Muhammad for helping us bring our vision to fruition for the community.
•And of course our beautiful community for showing up, bringing nur, your beautiful smiles, amazing energy, and great company.

We’re so glad you all enjoyed, and, inshaAllah, we’ll do it again next year, bigger and better.

May Allah reward you all, and your families. Ameen.

Sincerely,
HMWM Eid Committee
