“Come, Holy Spirit!” Yes, in any discernment of God’s call, we need to call on the Holy Spirit to come to fill and inspire us. Do we think to call on the Holy Spirit? Pentecost reminds us to do this not just on one feast during the year . . . but every day.

On this Pentecost Sunday, we pray especially for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon all who are discerning a call to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Detroit. May the Spirit who filled the Apostles with courage and joy also strengthen hearts today, guiding men to listen more deeply, trust more fully, and respond generously to Christ’s invitation.

Come, Holy Spirit, renew Your Church, and raise up holy priests for Your people. 🙌🕊️

On the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, we turn our attention to the quiet strength of a man who lived his vocation with humility and trust.

A carpenter by trade, Joseph’s life was shaped by work, prayer, and daily sacrifice. Entrusted with the care of Mary and Jesus, he responded with steady courage and faithful obedience. He shows us that vocation is often lived in the ordinary, in providing, protecting, and persevering in love. For those discerning their call, St. Joseph reminds us that holiness is found in quiet fidelity, especially in the work we have been given each day.

“Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them…”
Luke 2:51–52 🛠️🙏
