Thank you to the Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge for an outstanding concert! Our church choir was immensely blessed to lift our voices through song and music, in unity and faith with our Interfaith friends, to cultivate healing and peace. We’re grateful to WAFB Channel 9 for covering this spectacular event, to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church for hosting, and for all the churches and choirs for working together to heal hurting communities! 🙌 🙏

Denham Springs Louisiana Stake and Area Leaders had a wonderful opportunity to meet with Billy Nungesser, Louisiana’s Lieutenant Governor, and thank him for his service to our state.

They shared about JustServe and ways we can work together to serve our community, especially as we prepare for storm season.

Grateful for opportunities to connect and serve together with our local and State leaders.

On this Good Friday, our hearts were drawn to the Savior as we gathered for the Greater Love concert. There was a sacred spirit that filled the room as we reflected on the profound love of Jesus Christ, His willing sacrifice, His mercy, and His infinite atonement for each of us.

As we now look toward Easter Sunday, we rejoice in the hope and joy that comes through His resurrection. Because He lives, we have peace. Because He lives, we have purpose. Because He lives, we have the promise of eternal life.

We are deeply grateful for all who made this evening possible, the choir members who lifted their voices in praise, the musicians who so beautifully accompanied, and those who worked behind the scenes to plan and organize such a meaningful event.

What a blessing it is to come together in faith, to feel His spirit, and to celebrate the life and resurrection of our Savior.

President Joshua Poole and several of our Stake leaders had the opportunity to visit with our local legislators at the State Capitol yesterday. It was a meaningful time to personally thank them for their dedication, service, and the many ways they work to strengthen our communities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to build relationships with our local officials and help bring greater awareness to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and its mission to serve and uplift others.

We appreciate the time they took to meet with us and for all they do each day to serve others.

This morning, members of the Denham Springs Louisiana Stake and the Baton Rouge Stake joined with friends from the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to welcome a semi-truck carrying 40,000 pounds of shelf-stable food.

Seeing the pallets of food and knowing that it will bless thousands of families across our region was a powerful experience. The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank serves people across multiple parishes and works every day to ensure that our neighbors have access to the food they need.

We are grateful for the opportunity to follow the Savior’s example by caring for those in need, and to be part of a community that believes in lifting and serving one another.

Together, we truly are neighbors helping neighbors.

40,000 pounds of food donated to Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank

We are excited to be part of a wonderful opportunity to serve our community this week!

As part of the national America250 initiative, a semi-truck carrying 40,000 pounds of shelf-stable food will be delivered Thursday morning to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. This effort is part of a nationwide project to send 250 truckloads of food to food banks across the country in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. 🇺🇸

Earlier today, Joshua Poole, Stake President of the Denham Springs Louisiana Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Liz Pfifer, CEO of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, joined WBRZ to talk about the upcoming donation and the importance of caring for our neighbors in need.

This effort highlights the power of service and the difference that can be made when communities come together. Through JustServe, individuals and families can find opportunities to lift others and strengthen our community. ❤️
