Chris Allen begins the Answering Doubts series with “Good God, Why Hell?”, a message that wrestles with the question of how Hell and a loving God can be compatible. Through Scripture, we see that Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels, that humanity followed Satan into rebellion, and that God’s heart is for people to repent, believe in Jesus, and receive eternal life.

In this message, Chris Allen helps us understand how to answer honest questions about Scripture with clarity, confidence, and humility. Many people wonder whether the Bible can be trusted, how it should be understood, and what to do when Scripture feels confusing or difficult. This message reminds us that God has not left us guessing. Scripture is God’s Word to humanity, and it gives us truth, direction, correction, and wisdom for real life. As we learn how to approach the Bible faithfully, we can grow in confidence that God speaks clearly through His Word and calls us to trust and obey Him.

In “Back to School: Scripture Is Supernatural,” Chris Allen continues the Back to School series by showing why the Bible is more than an ancient religious text. This message looks at Scripture as God’s Word to humanity and asks two important questions: Is the Bible supernatural, and is the Bible reliable? Through fulfilled prophecy, the preservation of Scripture, and passages like Isaiah 53 and Zechariah 12, we are reminded that God declares the end from the beginning and that His Word points us clearly to Jesus.

In “Back to School: What Is Scripture?”, Chris Allen continues the Back to School series by helping us understand why the Bible matters and why we can trust it. This message shows that Scripture is God’s Word to humanity, breathed out by God and useful for teaching, correcting, rebuking, and training us in righteousness. As we look at the Bible’s supernatural nature, its reliability, and how it has been preserved through history, we are reminded that Scripture is not just an ancient book—it is God speaking to us so we can know Him, follow Him, and be equipped for every good work.

In “Back to School: Sin,” Polly Parks continues the Back to School series by helping us understand one of the most foundational truths of Christianity: the reality of sin. This message walks through the cause, curse, consequences, and cure for sin, showing that sin begins with pride and the desire for independence from God’s authority. From Lucifer’s rebellion to Adam’s disobedience, we see how sin broke fellowship with God, brought shame, fear, guilt, suffering, and death into creation, and affected every person. But this message also points us to the hope of Jesus, who came to take away our sins and restore us to God.

Last Sunday in Hopeland Kids, we explored the very first sin.

The kids learned that Eve was a gift from God to Adam, but Adam simply sat back to see what would happen. Eve wanted to be like God, and the snake... well, it just wanted to start mess.

It was a great lesson about how one choice changed everything, and why we all need Jesus.
