🚗 Volunteers Needed for Summer School Transportation🚗

Tapestry Farms is looking for volunteers to help provide rides for local students attending summer school programs in Davenport.

Beginning next week, 11 students need transportation to Jefferson Elementary and West High School. These programs are an important opportunity for learning, growth, and connection, and a simple ride can make all the difference.

Families are originally from Burundi, Syria, and Afghanistan. All children speak English fluently, and no car seats are needed; regular seatbelts are sufficient.

You don’t have to commit for the entire summer! Whether you can help for a few mornings, a week or two, or specific days each week, we’d be grateful. We especially encourage volunteers to sign up with the same family for multiple days when possible to provide consistency for the children.

Summer school starts next week, and many transportation spots are still open.

GIFT (Growing Illowa Food Together) Gardens is a community-wide initiative that invites individuals, families, and organizations to grow food to fight hunger in the Quad Cities. Whether you're planting a few pots on your patio or a full row in your backyard, your harvest can help ensure our neighbors have access to fresh, nutritious produce.

We are deeply grateful for the beauty of the sacred space we call Trinity Cathedral…the soaring ceilings, stained glass, and history held within its walls. Cathedrals remind us of the glory of God and the generations of faith that came before us.

But the Church is more than stone and wood. It’s people gathering in prayer, serving our neighbors, sharing burdens, welcoming all people, and learning how to love one another.

Beautiful buildings can inspire us, but it is the community within them that brings the Church to life.

Join us next Sunday, May 24 at 5:00pm in the main sanctuary of Trinity Cathedral for a performance of Franz Schubert’s beloved song cycle Die Schöne Müllerin (“The Fair Maid of the Mill”), featuring Ethan Elsbernd, baritone, and Dr. Minji Kwon, pianist. A reception in the Great Hall will follow the performance.

Comprising twenty songs, Die Schöne Müllerin traces the emotional journey of a young miller who wanders hopefully through the countryside, falls deeply in love, and ultimately descends into heartbreak and despair. From youthful optimism to haunting tragedy, Schubert’s masterful cycle remains one of the most profound and moving works in the vocal repertoire.

We hope you will join us for this beautiful evening of music.
