Community Baptist Church “And of some have compassion making a difference. Jude22” Sharing the gospel and loving people.

Pastor Ray Mintz

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God. The scriptures are inerrant, infallible, the final authority for faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21)

The Godhead
We believe in on Triune God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in po

wer and glory and having the same attributes and perfection. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; II Corinthians 13:14; John 14:10,26)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through his death on the cross as a representative vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by his literal, physical resurrection from the dead. (Acts 2:18-36; Romans 3:24-25; I Peter 2:24; Ephesians 1:17; I Peter 1:3-5)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where as our High Priest, he fulfills the ministry of representative, intercessor, and advocate. (Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 9:24; 7:25; Romans 8:34; I John 2:1-2

Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19)

The Eternal Security and Assurance of Believers
We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; I Corinthians 1:4-8; I Peter 1:4-5

We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God’s Word, which however clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh (Romans 13:13-14; Galations 5:13; Titus 2:11-15)

The Second Advent of Christ

We believe in that “Blessed Hope” the personal, imminent return of Christ who will rapture His Church prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish his earthly Messianic Kingdom which was promised to the nation of Israel. (Psalm 89:3-4; Daniel 2:31-45; Zechariah 14:4-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:1-6)

Creation
We believe that God created the universe in six literal 24 hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin. (Genesis 1:2; Exodus 20:11)

Missions
We believe that God has given the Church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. As ambassadors of Christ we must use all available means to go to the foreign nations, and not wait for them to come to us. (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8; II Corinthians 5:20)

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven
Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)

Romans 10:9 (KJV)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

HOW DO I FIND THE SECRET PLACE?

I have recently been studying Psalm 91, one of my favorite Psalms, which has prompted my inquiry regarding the significance and importance of this secret place.

Here’s what the Holy Spirit has revealed to me. (Definitions taken from Strongs Concordance)
The word “dwelleth” here means to sit down, to abide. This tells me I must set aside a specific time every day to meet with God, through prayer and Bible “Study” II Timothy 2:15. One habit I can easily slide into is neglecting taking the time to search and dig into scripture to reveal those heart-changing nuggets the Holy Spirit has for me. It requires effort and my flesh can be weak. So often I think we give ourselves a spiritual pacifier by quickly reading a verse or two, uttering a quick prayer, and checking off our daily devotion on our mental list. I know I have been guilty.

However, I have also come to realize it’s hard to live a victorious Christian life running on empty. Sooner or later it catches up with you. If I want to feel closer to God, I have to spend time with Him. He has personally convicted me of the time I waste scrolling social media when I could have been scrolling through scripture. I know I can’t be the only one.

Secondly, “secret place” refers to a covering, a hiding place, “abide” means to stay permanently 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 and “shadows “ means simply shade. Who doesn’t want to stay permanently, always hidden and in a secret place WITH God protecting you ? This is what He is telling us. When we spend time with Him and choose to surrender our lives, time, and talents to serve Christ He will provide this covering over our lives.

Obviously we can’t walk around with our nose in our bibles all day but we can spend quality time daily or at least several times a week in our bibles. I’ve found as I do this I have more of Christ light reflecting from me than the worlds.

As a pastors wife I have seen this played out so many times. People stop reading their bibles, next they start slacking off in church attendance and participation in church activities, then they get “offended “ over something the Pastor preaches because either it doesn’t fit their current lifestyle or they are personally convicted and refuse to address it so they just walk away from their church, and their Pastor. Sometimes even God. You will never in a million years convince me otherwise that when people are seriously spending time in their bibles (KJV) and seeking God’s wisdom they will not be offended by Bible Preaching that is backed up with scripture, and if they are convicted they will see the need to repent and turn away from sin.

That is why “entertainment religion “ has become so popular. You go to “church “ for one hour a week. Get pumped up by some music that makes your flesh feel good, hear a motivational speech about how “good “ you are and all the “positives” of how God wants to bless you as a “Christian “. But what about spending time alone with Him. He clearly tells us to “Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10. He also telks us in 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. What about sound bible preaching that steps on our toes and convicts us by pointing out some sin in our life ? That is how we grow closer to God, and closer to dwelling in that secret place the psalmist is referencing.

Will your weekly pep rally be enough to get you through the trials, challenges and temptations you will face? Do you really know what the Bible says about such and such situation, godly lifestyles etc. Do you even follow along in your bible to see if what the “preacher” is preaching is in the bible? Psalms 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”

This I believe is the greatest problem in our society today and has led to the breakdown of Christian morals, values and teachings modeled in our bibles.
The word Christian after all means Christ like !!!

Let’s all purpose to seek out that “secret place”. The rewards are infinate.
P.S. this was written for the born again child of God. I realize a lost person needs Jesus first before they can begin see the importance of God’s Word. If you want to know more about my Jesus please message me. I would love to talk to you. 😘
