"Morning Nuggets "
1 Thess. 5: 16-25
I got a call yesterday morning that changed the course of my day. I was called by a church member that was involved in a wreck. That began a chain events in which God would fortify a teaching in His Word.
I "Rejoiced"that it was this sweet lady that called me, and not an officer on the seen. She told me they had been in a wreck and her husband needed me.
I started to the scene.
"Praying"as I went.
As I pulled on the scene I saw both of my church members standing, I immediately began to give God praise and "Thank Him,"
You see this dear couple are 88 and 85 yrs old. They had just been rear-ended by a car that never hit the brakes. I could tell that the car had been totalled, but here they stand..... Glory to His Name.
But You see it was easy for me to give God thanks in everything I was seeing, because I was on the out side of this problem looking in.
That verse is not as easy when you are the man looking at the loss.
In Fact the only way to be able to be thankful in a time of trial is to keep your eye on Jesus. Trust Him in all things that He knows what is best.
This dear brother was in the mist of a trail, and his eyes were on his loss. He needed his focus redirected so that he would be able to "Give Thanks" in the mist of this trial.
He needed to be reminded that God is Good ALL the time.
The wife that he had longed for and prayed for was still standing beside him.
The health that he had experienced for 88 yrs was not taken from him.
They would go on to eat together, laugh together, they would wake up to see another day together.
No matter how big a trial the world may through at us, there is always something we can thank God for when we lay our lives in His hands and trust Him completely.
He is the sovereign God of the Universe He does know ALL things. He does love His own, and He allows everything that happens in our lives for a reason. We must trust Him even when we can't see Him.
He has promised that ALL things work together for the good the them that Love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
God will not protect you from that, that will prefect you.
But He will lift you and enlighten you, when you look to Him, in Life's trials.
