Serenity Village Life Recovery

Serenity Village Life Recovery A place of love and fellowship where we love God, love His people, and teach others to do the same.

Serenity Village Community Church (SVCC) was launched in December 2012. An offshoot of Serenity Village, a faith-based transitional 'whole-way' housing program that has changed nearly 1,000 lives, SVCC was formed to create a community of people connected to God and to one another. Led by Pastor Jeff Hill, SVCC's practical biblical teachings bring together over 500 people every Sunday at 10:30am & 6pm, Tuesday Night Life Recovery at 6:45pm, and Wednesday Night Bible Study at 6:30pm.

Step 4 is where recovery becomes deeply honest.

Not just about behaviors. About what’s underneath them.

The resentment. The fear. The shame. The wounds. The patterns. The parts of yourself you learned to hide, protect, avoid, or numb.

This step can feel intimidating because it asks you to stop running from yourself. But it is not about self-hatred. It is about self-awareness.

You cannot heal what you refuse to look at.

And often, the things we avoid examining are the very things quietly shaping our lives.

Step 4 is not about proving you are bad. It is about becoming honest enough to understand yourself with clarity, humility, and compassion.

We’re walking through all 12 steps, one week at a time. You’re welcome here, wherever you’re starting.

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

What do you need to let go of this week and place into God’s hands? How is trying to control the situation working out within your mind, emotions, and daily life?

God never asked you to carry everything alone. He invites you to surrender the pressure, fear, confusion, and uncertainty to Him. Let go of the weight and trust Him with the outcome.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault.” James 1:5

Ask Him for wisdom, direction, peace, and strength today. He knows what to do even when you don’t.

Step 3 isn’t about becoming passive. It’s about finally admitting that control has limits.

A lot of people spend years trying to manage their pain through control. Controlling emotions. Controlling outcomes. Controlling people. Controlling perception. Controlling vulnerability.

But eventually, the pressure of holding everything together becomes exhausting.
Step 3 invites something different: surrender.

Not surrender as defeat. Surrender as trust.

Trust that healing may require releasing the need to control every outcome. Trust that you do not have to carry life entirely on your own. Trust that God can meet you even in uncertainty.

Recovery often deepens the moment people stop asking, “How do I control this?” and start asking, “What would it look like to let go?”

We’re walking through all 12 steps, one week at a time. You’re welcome here, wherever you’re starting.
