Please keep the family of Patsy Pointer in your prayers. Patsy lost her battle from a short illness Sunday afternoon. Patsy’s brother, Harold attends Union Grove. Patsy and several of her family members were once longtime members of our church. Union Grove loves this family and hopes that they find peace during this heartache.
Patsy Pointer, age 69, of Crossville, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.
Patsy devoted more than 40 years of her life to nursing, caring for countless people with the same love, compassion, and tenderness that she gave to her own family. She cared with her whole heart, and helping others was not simply her career—it was who she was. She loved Jesus and people.
Above all else, Patsy was devoted to her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved fiercely, gave endlessly, and never hesitated to be there for the people she loved. She was Nana to many!
She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 46 years, Gary Pointer; her daughter, Kristen (Larry) Bright; her grandchildren, Zach (Danielle) Pointer, Austin (McKynzie) Pointer, Kaylee Peppers, Hallie Freeman, Zack (Kylie) Tarvin, and Shauna Tarvin; six great-grandchildren; three brothers; James Clayton (Christy), Kenneth Clayton and Harold Clayton, numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Gina Dobbs.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jason Pointer; granddaughter, Jordan Pointer; parents, JB and Ruth Clayton; son-in-law, Jarrod Freeman and brother; David Clayton.
Her funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2026 at Crossville Memorial Chapel and she will be laid to rest at Union Grove Cemetery. Bro. Tim Smith and Bro. James Clayton will officiate her service. Pallbearers will be Zach Pointer, Austin Pointer, Zack Tarvin, Daniel Clayton, Eli Ledbetter and Cole Graham. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 before the service.
