Hey! Big news! Tomorrow is the Sabbath!
We have guests coming!!
And today is the day to prepare for it! Clothes need to be ironed? Let’s get it done today so that you’re ready to roll in the morning!
Kids need snacks? Pack it up today! Let’s be ready to worship!!

Tomorrow, March 8th, Sunday School will be at 10:00 as is usual but …..the Chosen Generation group will be with us at 11:00 for the Worship service!!

Fun Fact! Did you know that there are several Mt. Pleasant Baptist Churches?
Did you know there are 2 in our area with both located on Highway 227?????
One is in Grove Oak near Geraldine and ours is in Crossville!
Some folks confuse the two but we’re all friends and play on the same team!
The Chosen Generation Quartet is actually based at the “other” Mt. Pleasant!

Another fun fact!! There must be something musical in the Gilbert family DNA because Jamie Gilbert who sings with the Chosen Generation is a cousin to our Gilberts, as in Nathan Gilbert and his family who sing with The Sand Moutain Sowers!

It’s definitely in the blood! Come find out for yourself tomorrow! Be there!

Today, Bro. Byron shared this scripture with us as a prayer for everyday. Adhering to Psalms 19:14 leads us to carefully choose our words in every day speech, and to show our Jesus loving hearts with positive words of affirmation. Starting off this new week, let’s trade negative thoughts and words for more Christlike terms.
Road rage? “God, please bless them today and keep us all safe.”
Incorrigible coworkers? “Lord, help me to be kind even when I don’t want to be.”
Family member testing you? “God, help me to remember they are just as loved and equally important to you as I am. I must love them as well.”

This afternoon, our church hosted a shower for Zanna Ferguson, future bride of Brock Gilbert. Everything was beautiful and blue! We are so thankful for this young couple, who actively and faithfully work with the youth as well as lend their musical talents in worship services. We pray that God blesses your marriage in many mighty ways.

Despite many members being absent today due to sickness, we were still blessed to gather despite the frigid cold. Brother Bentley Gilbert humbly preached from the book of Luke. Jesus asks us to follow him, even when we don’t feel worthy enough or even in times we don’t feel close to him, and even when we fail him. Pick up the cross again and again, everyday and continue the race. Jesus loved Peter enough to forgive him. Jesus even walked miles upon miles just to tell Peter he loved him despite his betrayal. Jesus loves us that much too. Keep on, keeping on. Keep fighting the good fight!

Tonight, the kids enjoyed enjoyed a meal of waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage and blueberries!
We also learned that God created everything! From the sun and the moon to the fish in the sea, he made everything good. But he didn’t stop there. He made all the people, each special and unique. We also learned that Adam needed a helper. So God created Eve, not to be less than, but to complete Adam and to complete all of creation. Eve had a purpose and so do each of us, big and small!
