There’s a lot happening around Verde, and we’re excited to keep you in the loop! Sunday is where we gather, but we love being a church family throughout the week too.

Here’s what’s coming up:

MEN’S BREAKFAST | Saturday at 8:00 AM
Join us in the Chapel for breakfast and a special message from Ken Nickel on how scientific evidence supports the compatibility of science and the Bible. Come hungry and bring your questions!

JOY - JUST OLDER YOUTH | Saturday at 12:00 PM
Join us in the Chapel for a special potluck featuring guest speaker Donna O’Daniel. She’ll share stories from her fascinating career as an ornithologist and her involvement in the early development of the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT VERDE | Beginning September 9
Wednesday nights are getting busy! AWANA, Youth Group, Grief Group, and Men’s Dessert & Fellowship will all be happening on campus. In a couple of weeks, we’ll also add our Marriage Workshop to the lineup.

KIDS MINISTRY CHECK-IN | Beginning September 13
Parents, our kids’ ministry check-in is moving to the Verde Tots nursery lobby. This will give you one convenient place to check in all of your kids. Beginning next Sunday, head to the nursery lobby when you arrive!

VCA HOLY GROUNDS COFFEE TRAILER | Grand Opening September 13 at 9:00 AM
Come grab your morning coffee and support VCA students! 100% of the profits will go toward helping our high school students travel to Belize for their mission trip this spring. Every coffee helps send our students to serve, share the gospel, and be part of what God is doing beyond our community.

VCA CHILI COOK-OFF & LINE DANCING | September 17 | 5:00–7:00 PM
Think your chili is the best? Come prove it! Join us in the Gym for a fun night for the whole family. Proceeds support VCA teachers and PTF.

PIZZA WITH THE PASTORS | September 20
If you’ve started attending Verde within the last six months, this is a great opportunity to get connected! Enjoy some pizza and meet our pastors, elders, ministry leaders, and their families. Sign up at The Hub today!

We don’t want church to be something we only do on Sunday morning. We want to be a church family that follows Jesus together—where people grow, serve, build real relationships, and use what God has given them to make a difference in our community and around the world.

Find a place to jump in, meet somebody new, and be part of what God is doing here!

Save the date! Our All-Church Campout is coming up October 2–4, and we’d love for you and your family to join us!

We’re looking forward to a weekend filled with fun, fellowship, and time together as a church family. It’s a great opportunity to slow down, connect with one another, and make some memories together.

CHILI COOK-OFF & LINE DANCING | Wednesday, September 17 | 5:00–7:00 PM
Verde Christian Academy is hosting a night of food, fun, and fellowship! Bring your best chili, come hungry, try your hand at line dancing, or simply enjoy the evening with friends and family. Adults are $10, kids are $5, and families are $30. Sign up to participate at The Hub.

DIVE DEEP | Sundays | 6:30–8:00 PM
Our new high school ministry, Dive Deep, is for students who want to go deeper in their faith, leadership, Scripture, and discipleship—and learn what it looks like to follow Jesus every day, beyond school, youth group, and Sunday mornings. Questions? Talk with Youth Director Logan Clemson.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS AT VERDE | Beginning September 9

There’s a lot happening at Verde, and we’re excited about what’s ahead! Here’s a quick look at what we highlighted in this week’s announcements:

Growth Groups
Growth Group sign-ups are happening now at The Hub. Growth Groups are where we build relationships, study God’s Word, encourage one another, and walk through life together. Our hope is that everyone at Verde is connected to a Growth Group. Stop by The Hub this Sunday to find a group that’s right for you.

AWANA
We’re looking for teammates to serve in Puggles, Cubbies, and T&T, especially a T&T Director for 3rd–5th grade. We’re also looking for volunteers to help with the AWANA Grand Prix early next year. This is only a 1–2 month commitment. If you’re interested in serving with AWANA, talk with Dan Fox.

Verde Kids & Verde Tots
We have some exciting changes coming to our kids’ ministries! Beginning September 6, our Kids Check-In Station will move from the main lobby to the Verde Tots area. This will allow parents to check in all of their kids in one convenient location. We’ll be sharing more details about the new check-in process soon.

Beginning September 13, Verde Kids will launch our brand-new God’s Kids curriculum, along with a parent app that will help families stay connected to what their kids are learning each week.

And as we prepare for this new season, we need people to serve!

For Verde Kids, we’re looking for:
• 2 adult Pre-K–1st grade classroom leaders
• 1 adult 2nd–5th grade classroom leader
• 9 adult or youth classroom assistants
• Several substitutes
• 2 people to help with check-in and name tags

For Verde Tots, we’re looking for:
• 7 regularly scheduled workers
• Several substitutes

The best part? You don’t have to serve every week. Our goal is to build teams where people serve about once every six weeks. This gives our kids consistency while allowing more people in our church family to participate. And with the new God’s Kids curriculum, leading a classroom will be easier than ever. You don’t need a seminary degree or years of children’s ministry experience. If you’re willing to show up, love kids, and point them to Jesus, we can equip you to serve. If you’re ready to find a place to serve, stop by The Hub after the service or talk with Megan Baily ([email protected]).

At Verde, we believe everyone has a place to belong, a role to play, and a next step to take. We’re grateful to be a church family that grows, serves, and invests in the next generation together.
