Ty Stuitt spoke today about Jesus’ birth, not the traditional story about Mary and Joseph, the manger in the stable and the 3 wise men. This was the story of how and why Jesus came to be born. The first portion of the Bible, the old testament covers about 4000 years of story and biblical history. The Word was written and dispersed to the people, and the prophecies were created regarding the coming of a Messiah. When Mary became pregnant with Jesus, this is an example of the Word becoming flesh, just as Elijah prophecized years before. Jesus was the visual and physical example of all 4000 years of teachings. He taught us through parables, stories, and his own living example. Scientist tell us that water is the best conduit for delivery Of a substance. The body is primarily water, and the Word is taken in by the body, the brain and the heart, and this is where the Holy Spirit can rest and inspire within us.

Ty Stuit spoke today about John the Baptist, who prepared the way for Jesus. John knew exactly who Jesus was, even from the womb when their mothers greeted each other. John went through a very brief period of doubt but he quickly recovered. Thomas also doubted Jesus but when he realized the man in front of him was indeed Jesus, he fell on the ground crying, “I believe!” The Word of God is more true and trustworthy than anything else you might see or hear, even if it is with your own two eyes and ears. Even God puts more emphasis on the written Word than anything else. Jesus says, “Blessed are you who have faith and believe without any physical proof.”

Pastor Bill Voss spoke today about happy endings. The problem with happy endings is that we frequently have to go through pain and trouble to reach them. We need to keep God close during those difficult times. There are five things we need to do in order to keep God close and hear His voice. 1. Meet with God regularly and in a special place. That’s why our mothers taught us to say prayers at bedtime every night. This builds intimacy with the Lord. 2. Look to God and pay attention. Let go of the distractions and minutiae that get in the way of giving Him your full attention. 3. Listen to the Word of the Lord. Read the Bible and listen with open ears and an open heart and a ready spirit. 4. Keep a journal and write in it every day. Write your questions for God and especially write gratitudes and praise for your blessings. And 5. WAIT. Be patient and the Lord will hear and respond.

Pastor Juan is always inspirational! This morning he spoke about comparing ourselves to others. Come on, let’s face it. We all do it. Never compare yourselves with others because you will not know your true condition. The Lord calls you to be YOU, and not anyone else. That brings God glory, for you to be the YOU that He created. Stop comparing. The enemy wants you to compare. Satan wants us to compare ourselves to others so that we will feel depressed about our shortcomings. Don’t fall into Satan’s trap. When you make comparisons, you make judgments about yourself and others. Instead of judging others, BLESS others! When you bless other people, that destroys discouragement, shame and blame. Don’t use other people as your standard. Use Jesus Christ as your standard in your relationships with all people. Remember, no comparing and no judging. Bless others instead. You are called to bless others because YOU are blessed!

Ty Stuitt spoke today about why Jesus taught us using parables. He used parables because the stories speak to your spirit, and not to your intellect. He used stories we could relate to in order to teach a spiritual truth. Jesus wants us to keep reading the Word of God and keep planting the seeds among the non-believers. Some will fall on good ground! Increase your knowledge of God because lack of knowledge leads to fear, doubt, and superstition.
