PEOPLE ARE CONFUSED, BUT YOU DON’T NEED TO BE
We are living in a time of unprecedented confusion. Everywhere you look, there are competing voices, endless opinions, fear-driven narratives, people who are angry with each other and arguing online and literally constant distractions.
People are searching for answers in politics, social media, entertainment, books, self-help gurus, and even artificial intelligence. Yet many are more confused than ever. Why?
As believers, we were never called to be confused.
God has given us His Word, His Spirit, and His wisdom. The Bible says, “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33 NKJV).
While the world chases after countless things, the believer must stay focused on what truly matters.
Here are ten things every believer should be concerned about right now according to Scripture.
1. OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS
“But seek FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and THEN all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)
Nothing is more important than our walk with Christ. Before worrying about the economy, politics, or the latest headline, make sure our heart is right with God. Everything flows from our relationship with Him.
2. REPENTANCE AND HOLINESS
“Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16 NKJV)
God is looking for a people who will turn from compromise and pursue holiness. We cannot expect God’s power while living like the world. Consecration and purity are signs and fruit of a true believer. We are called to come out from among them. To be in the world, yet not of it. A Christian is set apart. We are also “good repenters” living a lifestyle of repentance.
3. KNOWING THE WORD OF GOD
“Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.” (Psalm 119:11 NKJV)
Many believers know more about current events than they do about Scripture. The Bible is our foundation, our compass, and our source of truth in an age of deception. The Word of God is a lamp unto our feet and our daily bread! It is our firm foundation. We not only need to love and know the Word…but we need to live it out!
4. PRAYER
“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV)
Prayer is not a religious duty. It is our lifeline to heaven. The believer who prays consistently will have discernment, strength, peace, and direction. We need to all have a daily and active prayer life and communicate with God regularly. He will speak to us and guide us.
5. WINNING SOULS
“He who wins souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30 NKJV)
People are dying every day without Christ. The harvest is ripe. Every Christian should be looking for opportunities to share the Gospel and point people to Jesus. This should be the main mission of the church.
6. DISCIPLESHIP
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations.” (Matthew 28:19 NKJV)
Jesus didn’t just command us to make converts. He told us to make disciples. We must learn God’s Word, grow spiritually, and help others do the same. This is important to God and what we need to do as Christians.
7. THE FEAR OF THE LORD
“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” (Proverbs 9:10 NKJV)
A healthy reverence for God produces wisdom, obedience, and maturity. When we truly understand who God is, our priorities begin to align with His.
8. LOVING PEOPLE
“And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matthew 22:39 NKJV)
The world is becoming increasingly divided. Christians must remain people of love, mercy, forgiveness, and compassion while still standing firmly on biblical truth.
9. SPIRITUAL WARFARE
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:11 NKJV)
We are in a spiritual battle whether we acknowledge it or not. The enemy seeks to distract, discourage, divide, and destroy. Believers must remain alert and equipped. Let’s armor up and take a righteous stand!
10. OCCUPYING UNTIL HE COMES
“And He said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’” (Luke 19:13 NKJV)
Jesus never told us to hide in fear. He told us to occupy. We are called to build, serve, evangelize, disciple, influence culture, and advance the Kingdom until He returns.
FINAL THOUGHT
The world may be confused, but the people of God do not have to be. We know who we serve. We know how this story ends. We know the truth.
Stay focused on Jesus. Stay in the Word. Stay in prayer. Stay on mission.
There are many things competing for your attention right now, but these ten things should remain at the top of every believer’s priority list.
The time is short. The harvest is ready. The King is coming.
Let’s be found faithful. In Jesus name!
Confusion is not our portion.
