Light The Way Church (formerly known as Park Grove Christian Center Assembly of God Church) began holding services on Sunday, January 1, 1978 in the home of its founding pastors, Rev. In 1979, the facilities of Cottage Grove City Hall were made available to the congregation for Sunday School and Sunday morning worship services. Tims retired as the Senior Pastor of Light The Way Church on January 1
, 1994 when Rev. John Magee was the successor. Prior to becoming Senior Pastor, Rev. Magee served as the Minister of Music and Drama, as well as teaching and coordinating the Children's Church and Youth ministries at Light The Way Church from January 1, 1985 until the time of his appointment as Senior Pastor.
