theAlley We are more than a church with a mission, we are a church on a mission. That is the message that we carry and the passion that drives us.

The name of our church comes from Luke 14:21, “Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.” Our name is synonymous with the call given to all followers of Jesus. That is to go into the streets, alleys and lives of people in our world and share with them the eternally significant message of redemption through Jesus alone.

Whether you're a new christian or a seasoned one, do you still feel you're being tugged in two different directions, the way of the world and God's Way?

Submitting to God is not easy, it takes courage, discipline and His Love.

James is asking us to commit our lift to him, to draw near to Him so he can do amazing work within us through the Holy Spirit. We should strive to commit to Jesus out of love, not obligation. When that happens, we will see the world through the eyes of Christ and learn to enjoy doing what he asks of us.

As followers of Christ, our relationships and all we do are a reflection of the good works God has done in our lives. To be clear, OUR WORKS DO NOT SAVE US from sin. But they are evidence of what God has done in us. Being saved from sin changes us in such a way that people can see it in what we do, what we say, and the attitudes we have.

Join us at 10am when Pastor Ben shares James 3:1-12 with us: Taming the Tongue.

Have you ever said something you wish you hadn’t said - often immediately after you said it? Have you ever refrained from speaking the truth in love because you feared the reprecussions from saying it more than you wanted to please God? You are not alone. In fact, James makes it clear, “no one can tame the tongue.” (James 3:8 [NLT]) Put-downs, gossip, bragging, manipulations, exaggerations, complaining, flattering and lies - whether of omission or commision - are sometimes even encouraged in our society today.

But the good news is, God doesn’t expect or even want us to control our tongue on our own! As His children, we have His Holy Spirit to sanctify us, developing our self-control and helping us to love others as Jesus loves us. Praise God for His unending loving help and counsel as we live our lives to the glory of His Kingdom!
