When the enemy attacks, prayer is our weapon.

Lately, we’ve felt under spiritual attack ourselves, and we’re so grateful for the people who’ve held us up in prayer. We’ve also watched friends in leadership face pressure without the cover they needed.

Two simple things you can do this week:
1. If you lead: ask a few trusted people to stand with you in prayer, and send them specific needs.
2. If you don’t: pick a leader and commit to praying for them. Set a reminder so it actually happens.

We saw so many healthy practices last week at the pastors' retreat. From making space for the Spirit to move to regular accountability groups to biannual leader retreats. There are many disciplines we saw put into action that help foster healthy, sustainable leadership.

One of the hardest things for a leader to do is abandon a prepared plan.

At a pastors’ retreat last week, all of us sensed the Holy Spirit asking us to set aside our final session and give the time to extended worship and prayer ministry instead.

It became a real place of encounter. The extra space let each person linger in the Lord’s presence and listen to His voice of life, something a packed agenda would have squeezed out.

Three things I’m reminded of:
1. Preparation matters, and so does flexibility.
2. When a team senses the same thing together, it’s worth taking seriously.
3. Space is often the gift people need most.
