What does the Resurrection of Jesus me to you and I?

What a wonderful day this is for those who believe in Jesus. We honor and celebrate that He died for our sins on the cross and then rose from the dead on the third day. We declare today as the angel told Mary in Matthew 28:5-6- But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. He truly fulfilled His words that He said in John 11:25-26-25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
So, give this truth, what should the Resurrection mean to you and I today, and in fact everyday as a believer? We can start with knowing that we do not need to fear death, for in Him being the Resurrection and being resurrected, death with will not be our finality, but that we will also be raised to life again after our death according to the scriptures, as in John 6:40- And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” Romans 8:11- But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. 1 Corinthians 6:14- And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.
Lastly, the Resurrection signifies that through Jesus being raised from the dead, that He has given us that believe in Him a new life in the present according to Romans 6:3-4- Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
So, Jesus’ resurrection is not just for our future and the guarantee of the afterlife, but that we have been given a new life, a resurrected life right now! If this truly means something to us, then we must embrace it and learn how to walk in the new life we have been given by His resurrection. His resurrection demands that fulfill 1 John 2:6-“He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.”

Nevertheless, regardless of what I have written here, ask yourself, What does the resurrection of Jesus mean to you?

"Knowing Christ crucified. The significance of Friday"

1 Corinthians 2:2(NKJV)- For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Yes, praise God, Sunday is coming, Easter, Resurrection is coming, exalting that Jesus, the son of Man, the Son of God, the Lord of Glory has risen from the dead! But let us not hurry past the significance of Friday, Jesus death, His sacrifice as the Lamb of God, who took away our sins according to John the Baptist in John 1:29-9 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Before we get to the glorious beauty of Sunday, we must be careful not to rush past the ugliness of Friday that it cost Jesus to pay for our sin. There would be no Sunday celebration without the suffering precious lamb on Friday! Jesus Himself said in Matthew 20:28-NKJV)- just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” On Friday, Jesus chose to give up His life to purchase life for us that would believe in Him.
Also, as the Father God’s sacrificial lamb, it says in Isaiah 53:6.. And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. On Friday, Jesus bore and carried all the sin of the world upon him. Sin is ugly, and on this dark day, Jesus became the ugliness of sin for us. Isaiah 53:2-5 gives us this time of darkness and the ugliness of sin that Jesus bore for us on Friday that would pay our sin debt: And when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him.3 He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
4 Surely, He has borne our griefs. And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted.5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. But before Jesus, when he knew that He had fulfilled the payment for our sin to His Father on that Friday, the scripture says in John 19:30(NKJV)- So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. This “It is finished” was a victorious, triumphant declaration before He bowed His head and died. His death for our sins, was actually THE Victory that would take place prior to the celebration of His resurrection on Sunday. This is why Paul declares in
1 Corinthians 2:2(NKJV)- For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And why he says also in Romans 6:6(NKJV)-knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. And furthermore when he says in Galatians 2:20- I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Why do we as believers declare and honor that this Friday is Good Friday? It is GOOD because of that which the Lord God declared in Isaiah 53:10- Yet it PLEASED the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin,
Again, thank God Sunday is coming, but let us not forget Friday and what Jesus did for us on this day when he laid down His life to pay for our sin. John 15:13-3 Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.

Good Morning everyone. As you may or may not know, my wife and I have left Colorado and are no longer the pastors with New Nation Worship Center In Cortez, CO. We had to leave to return to Huntsville, AL to care for our son who is currently disabled from a car accident back in January. We are saddened that we had to leave and the work of the Lord there. But, we know this is our new calling and the greatest trial of our lives and family. We will not cease to believe for a miracle for Joseph and the restoration of our family as we go through this journey and this test of our faith. Unfortunately, we do not know what the future holds for the church. In the interim, the Foursquare district is currently seeking a new pastor and what to do in the meantime in hopes of someone accepting the role. But we know God still has great things in store there for Cortez. Please pray for the church and those that remain. My wife and I hope that down the road we may return in some type of online ministry, and that we may be able to retain the New Nation as part of that ministry. We will keep you posted as that transpires. Thank you New Nation members, Cortez, Durango, Dolores, Towaoc, the entire Four Corners, the Foursquare church, Restoration Church family in Madison and all in Huntsville and Madison, AL for your love and support over these past 5 years. We love you all so much and dearly. We will miss everyone we have come to know and the beautiful area. May the Lord bless and keep you all in His great love.
