Flourish Women is a ministry of Washington Avenue Baptist Church. We hope you will check out our page and join us in serving the body of Christ.

Our purpose is to glorify God and draw women together in community in order to serve our Great God! The Women's Ministry at The Avenue is one that reaches out to the women at Washington Ave Baptist Church as well as women throughout Cookeville, Tenn. Our goal is to love, grow, reach, and serve as God leads. Women are relational and a women's ministry in the local church is vital to the heartbeat o

f the Body of believers. As women are reached, families are added to the church and opportunities for ministry are limitless. Women's Ministry is never a stand-alone one but joins with the other ministries in the church to reach people with the gospel. Our desire as a ministry to women is to connect women from all generations, creating community, learning from each another, maturing in the faith, doing life together, and sharing Christ with those we meet along the way. Are you a mom of 18- to 30-year-olds?! This is a group just for you!

Parenting adult children can bring unique challenges, so we’re forming a new prayer group just for you! Our first meeting will be March 26 at 6:30PM in the Prayer and Counseling Room upstairs in Building A. We hope you will join us as we encourage each other and intercede in prayer for our children!

On February 28 WABC Women on Mission (WOM) and Avenue Women’s groups partnered to sponsor Mission Morning.

It was a joyful and productive morning creating 150 dozen resurrection eggs, 41 dolls, and 7 dresses for missions.

Thank you to those who attended to help serve missions.

If you missed this one, have no fear, we will have more opportunities in the year to get involved and serve others! ❤️

Serving opportunity this Saturday!

Women on Mission and Avenue Women are sponsoring a Missions Morning on February 28 in the gym. Women of all ages are encouraged to come help us assemble Resurrection eggs for London Bridge Preschool kids and create pillowcase dresses and dolls for sharing the gospel on mission trips this summer. Children ages 5 and up are welcome as well!

We are just over one week away from our annual Come to the Table event!

What is Come to the Table?
Come to the Table is an annual event where women decorate a table however they wish and then host other women for a shared meal, sweet fellowship, and a time of encouragement from a guest speaker.

Can I attend even if I wasn’t invited to sit at someone’s table?
Absolutely! Several hostesses would love to welcome you and are looking forward to getting to know new faces.

Who is the speaker?
Our speaker this year is Alicia Reagan from Voice for the Vulnerable. You can read more about her here:

What is the cost?
The cost is $15 per person and includes a delicious catered meal featuring chicken casserole, green beans, salad, a roll, and dessert. A gluten-free option will also be available.
