This week (Thursday, June 18-Saturday, June 20), delegates from all over North Carolina will gather at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem for the North Carolina GMC Annual Conference.

Our church is represented by Lay Delegate Gerald Loftin and Clergy Delegate John Woods. Beth Woods is also a delegate to Annual Conference as an elected member of the delegation to General Conference (to be held in South Africa August 30-Sept 5.)

We will witness the ordination of fifteen people into service as a deacon or elder in the GMC. We will celebrate the lives of ministers and spouses who have entered the church triumphant. We will rejoice with our retiring Conference Superintendent, Rev. David Banks and rejoice with the appointment of our new Conference Superintendent, Rev. Kari Howard. This will also be our last Annual Conference under Bishop Rev. Jeff Greenway and we will wish him a happy retirement as well. Business will be discussed and voted on, friendships renewed and formed, much laughter will be heard. And woven all throughout the Conference will be worship and prayer. Doesn't it sound like a wonderful time??
